i hope perth is in followed by central coast bears, after that i'd say another qld side and 2nd nz side. after that it's adelaide, darwin and port moresby/png side but that a long way down the track unless sydney clubs were to voluntarily relocate to adelaide or darwin. heres looking at you cronulla!

22 teams all up would be great if we can keep the comp at the good standard its at.

That'd be a pretty awesome comp and establish RL as the undisputed #1 sporting comp in the Southern hemisphere. (even though it already is)

Beauty of getting more TV $'s is we can increase club grants, increase salary cap and keep players in the NRL instead of them heading to SL. There is at least two decent teams of Aussies/Kiwis playing in the SL.

There's a ready made NZ team and a Perth and CC team in the waiting.

yeh and lets be honest majority of players head to SL for the $'s. If those $'s were available here they wouldn't be leaving. Looking at the salary cap levels and the tighting of the tax loophole plus exchange rate I doubt it is that lucrative any more to be playing in SL, especially of we can get the salary cap up to $6mill.

PNG before a 4th and 5th Queensland team?? Don't think so mate. Could have a 24 team comp and I doubt PNG would get a look in.

I think by 2020 we will have a 20 team comp with:

WA Reds
CC Bears
Sth Q'land
Wellington

in it.

Adelaide and PNG/Darwin are way long shots and can't see it for many years.

Adelaide will be there before NZ 2. Either a new team or a relocation of a Sydney club, but there's almost zero chance that Wellington/Christchurch will be in before them.

You said it in the thread on LU, the tv companies will have a big say on where the expansion teams go.

Only if a NSW team relocates there. Even then I doubt very much the NRL has much interest in SA at the moment. Not sure what has happened to the Wellington bid team? The were all gung ho before and even muted joining the SL they were so desperate. There has been no noise at all from them about 2013. The NZ TV deal is actually quite lucrative for the NRL so if a 2nd NZ team increased that then I would suggest they would be all for it.
