Lancashire Masters;
Wigan, St Helens, Warrington, Widnes, Salford, Leigh
Pennine Masters;
Huddersfield, Oldham, Rochdale, Halifax, Bradford, Sheffield
Yorkshire Masters;
Castleford, Wakefield, Leeds, Hull, Hull KR, Featherstone
Cumbrian Masters;
Whitehaven, Workington, Barrow, BARLA Select Vets, Gateshead, Carlisle?
Top two winners to go to a big event at the MEN for instance?????
Sky to cover it.
Great way of raising money and getting a chance to cheer on some old favourites.
I think its a great idea and something our code lacks. RU has lots of vets events and some really high profile ones like the Bermuda Classic. Would love to see it happen'"
That's what I was getting at. Only has to be 2-3 weeks long, just to shorten the off-season a bit!
Although I'd go with some different groups as you've missed out a few teams there. Maybe...
Western Masters: St Helens, Warrington, Widnes, Barrow, Whitehaven, Workington
Manchester Masters: Wigan, Leigh, Salford, Swinton, Rochdale, Oldham
Eastern Masters: Hull FC, Hull KR, Sheffield, Doncaster, Gateshead, London
West Yorkshire Masters: Leeds, Hunslet, Featherstone, Wakefield, Castleford, York
Pennine Masters: Huddersfield, Batley, Dewsbury, Halifax, Bradford, Keighley
European Masters: Wales, Ireland, Scotland, France
All split into two groups of three like in Masters Football (apart from Euro group). Winners of each group play each other to be the winners of that competition. Winners of each competition go to national final, split into two groups of three again with a grand final.
