It would be surprising if you did, aren't deals done in private and then announced to the fans, as for transfer rumours they're usually instigated by newspapers wanting to sell papers, perhaps that's where you've heard all the "big money rumours" concerning Johnstone in order to create interest, only guessing though.

FTR Wire tried to buy Miller last year before they got Brown and were told no chance. Cas also tried to get Fifita off us after the end of the last season as well but was told no thanks.

MC has said a couple of times on Yorkshire Radio that he's nad numerous teams after Johnstone, especially at the end of 2016 but he's repeatedly said he'd be the last player he sells.

As for the first part, if peple were putting Leeds players down you'd be the first one on here to stick up for them, it's natural they're your team. It just seems that Wakey have more people either trolling or just underestimating. The second part is easy to understand, after what we went through for a few years. For example around 2010/11 we lost at least 5 players just to hudds. It seemed every season around that time we were having to buy in half a team because we'd lost players to other Clubs.

Given that Cas have signed a few Championship players including the prop area that should give some idea of the strength of their interest.

Wire were desperate after Sandow left and probably inquired about several players. With Wire's money do you honestly think they had "no chance" of getting him if they really wanted to or that he was their first choice ahead of Brown or others? Brown has struggled this year but I'd have gone for him over Miller.

Wakey owner tells some stories about turning down offers and Wakey fans lap it up assuming other clubs are coming in heavy for their players and gets the owner in the fans good books. Makes the owner look good in the fans eyes but the reality of the interest in Wakey players probably nowhere near as strong as they like to make out.

How do you not know that Fifita wasn't going to be Cas' one big signing but fell through?

None of us know what Wire offered for Miller so it's neither here or there but of course, if Wire chucked a load of money at Trinity they might have got him but all we know is they didn't. As for Brown over Miller, your opinion but they came after Miller first & I'd say Millers got a better game than Browns, especially in attack.

Cas haven't made any big money signings, so the reality is they don't have big money rather than a Wakey player was their only option for a big money signing. That Cad have signed Championship players should tell you they didn't have the money.

Other clubs probably aren't bothered by what your owner says on the radio. The big clubs are use to downplaying links to players as it happens so often.

Wakey fans drinking the owners KoolAid convincing themselves that bigger and better clubs are desperate for their players. It's laughable.

As for Fifita don't be pathetic, a big wrecking ball of a player on a half season deal - are you seriously suggesting there wasn't a lot of interest I said player. Yes, as a Leeds fan who has seen my team win 8 GF's, a couple of CC's and WCC's, a few LLS including one in the most dramatic of finishes. Several legendary careers seen in the flesh and not just read about in history books.....I'm jealous of Wakefield for one winger who may not even cut it at a big club even though we've got one of the best wingers in SL history in Hall and Brisvoe who whilst has struggled at times has produced for us in numerous CC and GF's.

Honestly some Wakefield fans on the VT are making themselves out to be delusion based on a 5th placed finish. Reality is you haven't got ANY players that the top teams are DESPERATE for. A passing interest or inquiry in a player and you lot are trying to pass it off as a win for your club that he's stayed.

If Leeds wanted a new winger I'd want a few others ahead of Johnstone with McGillvery miles ahead of him.

The Leeds snobbery is still in full swing I see this off season. Wakey finally have a couple of players that are sought after and better than their counterparts at the high end clubs like Leeds.

It’s a rarity over the years and it may only be a handful but boy it’s hard to accept for some fans. The hard work that’s gone into finally building a team that can challenge every game on an even keel with the top sides has been a massive effort. I’m happy with what we’ve got and I wouldn’t swap a number of our players for counterparts at any other club.

I’m happy enough to keep on seeing Tom Johnstone keep putting his opposite wingers in his pocket and shaking them out after the final hooter for another year.
