| Quote: Eastbourne Warrior "I think incidents like this show the grading system to be flawed. It is not possible to do a 'non aggressive' headbutt. Trying to define something like that just doesn't work. I also don't like this part contact/full contact nonsense. However much contact is made the intent is still there which is what should be looked at.
I'd prefer to look at the context of the overall incident and the past conduct of the player involved. In this case was it really that bad. IMO it wasn't. However it was one of those things, like biting, gouging etc you simply can't do. 2 matches IMO would be sufficient. The calls for a long ban are OTT and the minority claiming there was nothing in it are wide of the mark.'"
I actually agree with you.
..... madness!

Thought the point was lost before Sinfield's departure. Poor set up and execution of a DG was where it was lost. You always had another try in you.

| I think the way Sinfield was shouting/swearing at Dorn right before it happened shows that it was done with aggressive intent.
It wasn't the worst headbutt i've ever seen but he wasn't exactly just leaning in to give him a kiss on the lips like some are trying to suggest. I've no idea why he did it, totally out of character for him and his record would be the only thing that would stop a longer ban. The fact of the matter is he lead in with the head towards an opposing player and made contact. which just isn't allowed in today's game and is inexcusable, regardless of how hard or how far he cocked his head back... it's a head back with aggressive intent. It deserves a few games ban at least. If they let him off without any sort of ban what precedent does that set?

| Hope RFL don't bottle it, he should get 3 matches as it was intentional and the foul language leading up to it was also aggressive. After all, he was rightly penalised and Dorn did nothing to warrant the attack.

| Like others, I was stunned to see what he actually did.
What possessed him I don't know. It did come at a particularly intense period of the game - big hits were flying, Leeds were pinning Cas back into their own territory and trying to force home the win - so emotions were clearly running high, but Sinfield has led Leeds through much more intense situations than that with flying colours.
Whatever it is graded at, Sinfield's previous (or lack of it) will see him get the lower end of the spectrum. Anyone comparing him to Gareth Hock is either insane or Gareth Hock.

First of all, I don't speak for "our fans", we're not The Borg
And secondly, what does it say about the numerous supporters of other clubs on this thread who also think you're a drama queen who's making something out of nothing?
As was said earlier, by a fan of another club - embarrassing.

| Lowest end of the spectrum is 3 games, it should be punished but his previous good character means nothing more, he'll learn from this, he's a bright lad.

| Dorn's post-match reaction was, unsurprisingly, much less dramatic than many on here: "These things happen in games - there was nothing in it."
Aside from that incident - what an outstanding game of RL! Both teams deserve credit for what is easily the best televised game of the season so far. Cas, it would certainly seem, really are the real deal. If rumours of that team being pulled to bits in the off-season are true, it will be a real shame.

| If it was up to me I'd have said let it be, Dorn wasn't bothered and they get hurt more in a tackle.
But law of the sport says he must face a sanction, minimum possible for me, completely out of character and his standing in the game SHOULD be considered.

You could be right, but to get 3 games for what turned out to be "a forehead rub" seems ludicrous. On that basis, hock should be out for six months!
Dorn thrust his head forward first, looks like Sinfield was trying to go head to head ( I'm not a Leeds fan by the way).
One thing it does show is just how many drama queens we have on this site.

I've seen incidents like this in lower leagues handled by a talking too, then a penalty.

Indeed, yes he went head to head with Dorn, but really, have we become so sanitised?
Still a strange reaction from Sinfield though.

| Having just watched it again, I actually think Sinfield thought Dorn was coming in for a bit of head to head rubbing, which goes on a lot, Dorn backed off and Sinfield didn't. Red was correct and I wouldn't be complaining if it was 3 matches. Ive got a sneaky feeling that it will be graded A though, and these forums will go into meltdown.

I wouldn't have a problem with grade A. Fancy dress manufacturers would be rubbing their hands and readying the manufacture of regalia for all the drama queens .
