The promotion criterion of 2,000 seats. We had to make a number of changes to Wheldon Road in 2005 to meat promotion criteria, including adding extra toilets (portaloos) for instance. But we don't have 2,000 seats in the main stand. iirc, the criterion was adjusted to 1,500 seats (which we met with our 1,800)

I'm constantly amazed on the willingness of some Widnes fans to forgive – and indeed exhonerate – the people who drove their club into the ground and very nearly robbed them of the chance of having a team to support at all.

If anybody involved in the Cas board had done that to my club I would never forgive or forget. They'd be cursed in my memory between now and the heat death of the universe.

Still, it makes it easier to play the victim and pretend it's all the fault of Evil External Forces at the RFL, rather than look closer to home for the people who really shafted them.

Nope TB, we know who is to blame - the fickle people of Widnes who dont turn out except when we are in SL. Doesnt make it any more acceptable to us fans of the club to hear people like yourself who know next to nothing about the circumstances of our recent turmoils just making up any old tat to suit your arguments in this, and the countless other threads on franchising etc

Its easy to slate Widnes for recklessly spending money they didnt have chasing that big SL dream, the one that apparently meant they went bust. Cas also had a good squad - better than Widnes as it turned out, and good costs money.

I wonder what the financial storm would have been at Cas if they had lost that game given the following;
