| Quote: Pepe "Warrington is not Widnes. I have done it in 30 minutes easily from my home, and that's further than from the Stobart stadium. It takes me near enough that to get to leigh!
I do agree that we should expand nearer to home, in a stepping stone fashion, and that Wrexham is an ideal place to start.
Genius is not a word I’d use in this case though.'"
Then you've been speeding as the fastest drivetime is 46 minutes according to google maps. Obviously you can shed a bit of time off this but not a third of it

They didn't? You mean that after assuring the RFL of the club's financial soundness as part of qualifying for promotion if they won the 2007 grand final, the board turned round and put the club into administration immediately after losing the game as [ia spur of the moment decision[/i? And you still refuse to attach any blame to them for damn nearly robbing you of your club? As I've said before, you're a far more generous man than I would be in similar circumstances.

On thread drift:
[quote="tb":24qn1m99]Tough. Conversations develop. It's their nature.[/quote:24qn1m99]
Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”
[i:24qn1m99]There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back![/i:24qn1m99]

70-80ish, plus I'm setting out from Widnes and not Warrington. I just did an AA route planner, and it said 32 minutes from Lower House Lane.

No. The clubs’ first intention was to gain re-entry into Super League and use that money to pay of it’s debts, rather than just say sod the creditors and put the club into administration. Losing that Grand Fianl against Cas ended this possibility.
The Crusaders, on the other hand, set up another company a month before going into admin. Therefore, there was never any option to stay solvent.
Again, Widnes did not have this option, or the offer from the RFL to pay staff wages until the club came through admin.
Also again…
Do you think the Welsh Crusaders will get the same treatment Widnes did when they are handing out new licences in 2011?

Cheers littlerich.
Still wondering if tb is going to provide any evidence to back up this assertion ...
Quote: littlerich "Interestingly, what Crusaders haven't done, for example, is announce with no warning that the club is in administration leaving all their employees without jobs - which, coincidentally, is what Widnes did in October 2007. Widnes were allowed to reform, without their previous debts, and compete NL1 in 2008.'"
I'm not holding my breath.

1230.gif “You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”:1230.gif |

| According to sporting life a new name for the club (again) next year, 2 failures in 2 years - franchising is a great idea
if it is also true that the RFL are the main creditors then they literally are bailing out the club what a waste of money

Agreed, they seem willing to throw cash at the crusaders and then let them off without paying it back. Can you imagine how the blackpool fans must feel after this?
