I thought Leigh might have avoided Relegation with the new re-structure but that seems unlikely having read the outcomes of yesterdays SL meetings.

Seems a little unfair on them. Let them buy in new players for next season, now, and give SL next season a good go. They aren't far of winning games at the moment. A few additions and they could be competitive.

That's not correct. Leigh may hope they signed for this year in Superleague and then next year still in Superleague via the "no relegation" idea and via the 14 club proposal.

But that is not correct. Leigh knew it was one up one down when they came up hence they knew what they were signing up for. The 14 club proposal was just that, a proposal. As you say ‘a hope’.

Looks like the proposal has been shot down as the pie is too small to feed 14 clubs so it’s sticking to the original one up one down.

As am I that Bradford didn’t get the nod. It was a poisoned chalice. Leigh will likely be fine if not set back a year or two. Bradford london etc could have been ruined for good or at least set back 5 or so years.



Yes Toulouse look great at championship level and I wish them well but people said the same about Toronto and look how that turned out even before they went pop. People have been predicting the demise of wakey salford hudds for years but they are still around year after year in SL

Calm down, if you’re going to criticise a report for being bad best if you get your facts straight yourself.

Either way Leigh knew exactly what they were getting themselves into which is the whole point.

As I say I don’t think Leigh or particular DB would be so shortsighted to sign up for a year of losses on half money based on a ‘proposal’ that maybe we will have 14 teams up next year. That would always rely on a vote from the clubs agreeing to share more money out which was never likely to happen.

Hindsight but as I said before, Leigh could be doing what Toulouse and Fev are doing at the moment. Knocking on the door of SL with a real feel good factor. That itself justifies why Bradford and York etc wrongly applied as it was their only shot at SL as they wouldn’t be able to make it on merit on the field.

Negative RL threads… do you think the RL fan base is glass half full community as we are half way through the comp and the main discussion is not who will win the super league and how fantastic Catalan are doing but ‘are Leigh the worst team’.

L14, Leigh will be a better club away from the toxic Superleague. Apart from the big 6 clubs, the rest are Minions. We should keep well away.
