The 2 games over the Easter weekend should have been scrapped years ago for all players welfare

But SOO is worth it?
Toronto should play away on the Maundy Thursday as do their Monday opponents and they share the same flights and disadvantages......simplz

Why, just to allow TWP to play alternate games ?
I dont have an issue with them playing 2 home then 2 away games etc.
However, some people have already pinned their hope on them "saving RL" in the UK. However, if we lose a British club from SL to allow them to compete in SL, they are actually doing the opposite AND reducing the number of FT British players.
They should be "extra" not instead.
The NRL seems to cope well with 16 sides and yet, SL keeps reducing the numbers "to improve quality", something which just hasn't happened.

| So a bad extensive winter in Toronto could see them play around 9 away games up to the magic weekend I think that would mess up the home and away weekly format for the rest of the other teams.
The biggest danger is if Toronto have to postpone say 2 games in mid March they would have to forfeit those home games because teams won’t want a re arranged fixture travelling mid week to Toronto.
I should imagine airline costs will increase in the spring when most clubs start to play across the Atlantic.
As for the Easter weekend all teams should be playing Friday and Monday and not Thursday and Monday which could be the possibility for 4 teams if Toronto is in the mix.

| To avoid any team having to travel 5 timezones at Easter lets try something new and innovative that will allow us to take the game to new market. Toronto play both their Easter games in Tasillaq, Greenland
Shame that ittoqqortoormiit is only -1hr, much better name! (Although it’s Danish name is Scorsbysund).

The main reason for not aligning the start of our season with the NRL is that we play significantly more games than them.
The NRL play 22 games in the league plus a max of 4 playoffs including the Grand Final. Even if you add on 3 SOO games that’s 29 games in the season.
SL play 30 league games followed by a max of 2 playoff games getting to 32 games. Plus a possible 5 Challenge Cup games.
Taking it to 37.
It’d be impossible to align ours with the NRL.

I'm aware of that but, some of our "brighter" posters dont seem to be, mainly the ones that think Toronto are the future.
I think its just coincidence

We should make the effort towards alignment though, we shouldn't be playing Rugby League in February its just not Summer Rugby. I,ve always thought the magic weekend should be a 9's comp involving super league and championship teams to generate more expansive interest and participation.
The majority have always thought a top 5 play off was the better one, the intensity of games before the top 8 are weaker than previous years.

| We should get back down to 27 league games. 14 teams home and away plus Magic give you that and with those 3 fewer games just start the season three weeks later at the end of Feb instead of the start of it.
Honestly think that’s a key part of why we’ve seen an increase in injuries over the years and most teams constantly with chunks of their starting 17 in the stands which must hurt interest/attendance/viewing figures in games. 3 extra weeks to recover from the previous year. 3 extra weeks to work on fitness for the upcoming season. 3 extra weeks to work on individual and team skills. All would help improve the quality on the field and likelihood of seeing stronger starting 17’s which in turn would make it much easier to run a reserve league without games being cancelled because of huge injury lists.

| If there's a desire to move the start of the season back, one option is to restructure the challenge cup so there is a group stage in Feb / March. Toronto would have to play all games away / in England at this stage, then move onto a quarter final stage. Early rounds of CC are little more than pre season friendlies when you look at gates, and would offer a way of cutting league games, without cutting number of overall games.

Ok Him, I am aware of all Clubs in the NRL but due to not currently having Sky or much free time I can't follow it yet ! What I need to know is this, how if their are 16 NRL Clubs can they have 22 weekly rounds ? Surely you play the 15 other Clubs H/A giving 30 rounds + Play offs ? I will take SOO out of the equation.
Explain to none followers please !

| Still seems crazy to have a Canadian team? Just bonkers. Read a lot of pro and anti posts but I just can't see any way this will work short or long term? Madness.
