| They say you're only as good as your last game, if that was Sinfields last game he can retire on a very proud note. Excellent performance from him.

As soon as that soft high poop went in, we were loved. Two completed tackles away from the final, and some lazy nice bloke throws out a stiff arm. Who the hell was that ? Couldn't see from here as I was watching between my fingers.'"

| Hard to think of any other centres tbh we are lacking in that department, would maybe like to see Matty smith from wigan given a chance or maybe what's his name brough is it? he did play for scotland in the 08 WC so we cnt moan if he chose them again.
Least we shouldn't need chase anymore, widdop was brilliant apart from the obstruction, if he had played I wonder how we would have performed I think we could have lost by more by going a man down.

| George Burgess shouldnt have given away a daft penalty with them 30-40 out on their 4th tackle.
Before everyone starts bagging on sinfield he moved us round and created a couple of tries best game I've seen him play.

| Smith and Myler should be contesting for the number seven jersey for years to come.
Could Hardaker play in the centres or could we look at Hall there? The former is a skillful player and the latter is big enough to make the move inside.

| Lets not bag Burgess either. Like I say 80 minutes of chances.
If Hall had caught the ball it would have been curtains. If SBW had caught that kick near the England line he would have scored. If Westwood had glue on his hands he would have scored I could go on.
80 minutes of chances the last one or 2 are not in the end the deciding factor.

| Burgess giving away the penalty put us right under pressure. I could see the game was going to finish with a twist and it did. That penalty was the catalyst.
Widdop's performance at 6 should ensure Rangi Chase never pulls on an England shirt ever again. We actually looked like we had a proper half back pairing today.
All credit to Sinfield, he played well for 79 and half minutes. Shame the lasting memory will be for his moment of absolute madness in the last half minute. He was never going to make that tackle.
A classic game but a gutting result. English Rugby League needed an England win today. Interest has built throughout the world cup and an appearance in the final would have made sure it stuck with those new to the game.

| Quote: easthull fc fan "Why on earth did Sinfield shoot out the defensive line?'"
Because NZ had the numbers.
The truth is you could try and single any one player out for blame. If westwood had kept hold of the ball when putting the ball down, if G.Burgess hadn't given away the high shot etc etc.
Bottom line is we came as close as you could get. We have a young pack, some great young backs and some decent halves coming in (sinfield should retire from int rl). We should win an international tournament over the next decade if we can keep going the way we are.

| What a game, but the most frustrated man in London must be Carl Ablett.

| Don't see why anyone is bagging the centres, they held their own this World Cup. Watkins in particular had a good series of games. By the next World Cup there could be more young players coming through to try and get a spot, particularly Percival at St Helens.
And funnily enough, I think the way that we lost has almost done as well as a win, Facebook is covered with people talking about the game and how good it was, even though they've never watched before. If we'd gone down by 30 to Australia next week then there wouldn't be anywhere near the same reaction.

| Watkins did have another good game, wish we had have attacked down the kiwi left side instead of their right that was probably their weak link with Manu missing.
