He's won it once when he probably should have won it three years on the trot.
Hardly a one man bias.

A better kicker? Name me which type of kick you want comparing to. Goals? Sinfield. Cross field to winger, Sinfield. 40/20's what do stats say. Michael Dobson is up there when fit.
So what you're saying is that a fully fit first choice side is no harder to lead than a team full of young, inexperienced players? Right.
Any stats on line breaks for Brough? Look at how someone like Rob Burrow takes on the line compared to him. Backs make more clean breaks than forwards? Perhaps that's because forwards like Peacock suck in 4 defenders at the tackle?
Brough only shines because he has had a fully fit team of forwards building that platform for him. He doesn't win games.
Danny Brough has had a good season thanks to the work of others. Not because he's created a spark or provided the genius.'"
Your first sentence makes no sense but then again most of your posts dont.
On the stats Brough is ahead of Sinfield on goals, attacking kicks and 40 20s.
Brough also has in his armament something that OPTA dont keep a record which is the non attacking kicks.
Brough has turned teams around all season and forced them to have to run the ball out rom their 10 metre line on a regular basis often making the Giants 50 metres.
This is what has reduced the work of the forwards and made it easier for him.
To say that Danny Brough does not win games is ridiculous he lays the platform for everything the Giants do.

I would hope Brough is ahead on stats, Sinfield has missed plenty of matches.
Brough is way behind Chase & Dobson, who I've already mentioned, on attacking kicks. These kicks that you say aren't measured, what would you class them as & how many has he done?
So Brough does it all himself then? Produces these magical kicks that move the team downfield all by himself, thereby giving his forwards less to do which means they can work to give him more room?
He must be a magician!!
Now think back to what I said about Brough working off a platform & not being the type of half who takes the line on. Brough is ranked 39th. Chase is top & Peacock 2nd.
Now think back to where I mentioned Shaun Lunt is the one who really gets the Giants moving. He's in the top 10 for carries & has the excellent distribution left or right from the ruck for Brough & Robinson to work off.
The Giants may have won the LLS, but the arrogance levels on display would suggest they'd won 6 of the last 9 GF's!!
Brough has had a good season but isn't fit to lace Peacock's boots as a captain, leader, player or man

Did Brough use to steal your lunch money when you were kids? It's the only explanation I can come up with for ths drivel.

your a Leeds fan i get it. Choose Peacock but dont invent ridiculous arguements to try to illustrate your view.
There is not another poster on the boards who would underestimate Broughs kicking and the field position that it buys for the Giants.
Go back and watch the first game of the season Saints V Giants.
Watch the game and listen to the commentary about 15 time sin that game Saints had to run the bal back fromn inside their own 10 metre line.
Brough has done that to teams all season

You ruled out half backs by dismissing Brough (and therefore any player of his ilk) because "they didn't lay the platform". You've ultimately decided that only a forward can win.
Quote: BiffasBoys "Brough shouldn't be MoS this season or any other that he's not worthy of the award.'"
So you're a fortune teller as well?
Or maybe you've just got a chip on your shoulder?
Quote: BiffasBoys "A better kicker? Name me which type of kick you want comparing to. Goals? Sinfield. Cross field to winger, Sinfield. 40/20's what do stats say. Michael Dobson is up there when fit.'"
All-round kicking, Brough has been the best in this country. It's amusing how your argument misses out downfield kicks (you know, the ones that make loads of yards to lay a platform...)
Quote: BiffasBoys "So what you're saying is that a fully fit first choice side is no harder to lead than a team full of young, inexperienced players? Right.'"
No, I'm saying that that's not the criteria for picking the Man of Steel.
Quote: BiffasBoys "Any stats on line breaks for Brough? Look at how someone like Rob Burrow takes on the line compared to him. Backs make more clean breaks than forwards? Perhaps that's because forwards like Peacock suck in 4 defenders at the tackle?'"
I like how you've completely backtracked on your "break the line" comment there and now it's about sucking in defenders (something that half backs NEVER do eh?). Brilliant.
Quote: BiffasBoys "Brough only shines because he has had a fully fit team of forwards building that platform for him. He doesn't win games.'"
Again, another ridiculous point. Surely it's easier to shine in a team of inexperienced players (you know, since you're head and shoulders above them)? But it's good to see that you think Brough shines in the best team in the league. Surely the hallmark of a MOS?
Quote: BiffasBoys "Danny Brough has had a good season thanks to the work of others. Not because he's created a spark or provided the genius.'"
So he's definitely not up there in try assists or anything then?
Seriously, get a grip.

Leeds fan? Nope. Sorry to kick that chair from under you lad.
I haven't underestimated Brough's value to the Giants. I've put it into conyext, with stats to back it up against all those you think he is better than.
So I've laid your stats argument to rest & you are referring to one game.
Give it up. Back your team & it's players, but don't make a fool of yourself doing it.

I quite clearly stated Brough was not the type of half who took the line on. I said he's a second phase type player who relies on a platform.
Rangi Chase isn't a forward. Look at his carry stats compared to Brough. Takes the line on and looks to make breaks.
Take the pack from in front of Brough & he's anonymous. Chase won MoS for being the type of line leading half that goes at defences.
You clearly have to make up things to try & win an argument.
I haven't missed out any kicks at all. A downfield kick isn't what lays the platform, it's the chase & first up tackle.
Brough has performed well. It is utterly facile to compare his performances to Peacock when considering the team he has had around him, to those of Peacock who has led a side missing it's main playmakers & kicker, plus several first 17 players for large parts of the season.
Honestly do those going for Brough, Hudds & Hull fans actually have any appreciation or knowledge of the game?
Don't listen to Eddie & Stevo. look at the stats, watch the players in action 7 look at the results achieved with the teams they lead.

Yet he has taken on the line many times very successfully to score or put someone through.
Quote: BiffasBoys "Rangi Chase isn't a forward. Look at his carry stats compared to Brough. Takes the line on and looks to make breaks.'"
That's because he's playing in a one man team.
Quote: BiffasBoys "Take the pack from in front of Brough & he's anonymous. Chase won MoS for being the type of line leading half that goes at defences.'"
Take the pack from any half back and you'll find they'll struggle. Take the half backs from any pack and you'll see very few wins. It's a team game with different roles. Without good halves, teams don't win games. Hull had great forwards for years and won next to nothing.
Quote: BiffasBoys "You clearly have to make up things to try & win an argument.

You haven't missed any kicks, but then state one you missed straight away. Brilliant.
And yes it does lay a platform. The chase and first tackle will be nothing without the kick!
Quote: BiffasBoys "Brough has performed well. It is utterly facile to compare his performances to Peacock when considering the team he has had around him, to those of Peacock who has led a side missing it's main playmakers & kicker, plus several first 17 players for large parts of the season.'"
And again, you can't pick the MOS because one plays in an injury hit squad. It's not Brough's fault his players stayed fit!

Clearly by saying that Brough doesn't take on the line, break tackles or that good downfield kicks don't lay a platform, you haven't been watching or understand the game.
Look, you're obviously a Leeds fan, so I can understand why you'd pick Peacock. He's had a great season and is a worthy choice. But your arguments come to nothing when you trash the other player who clearly is up there as one of the best. Argue FOR Peacock, not AGAINST Brough (and if you're going to do the latter, at least don't exaggerate!)

Had Brough not thrown his toys out of his pram with regards to England selection, he wouldn’t have been so high on peoples radar and we wouldn’t be having this collective man-crush. But he is a ready made excuse for people to criticise McNamara so his performances have been elevated to something they weren’t.

Please furnish us with the facts. What happened between Brough and McNamara? Why did Brough "throw his toys out of the pram"?
