Lets face it he is going to break the cap but do it in a way that rubs it in the RFL`s faces and in a way they can do nothing about it. Its good for the game if you ask me but I can see why other teams fans would be jealous.

And just for the record,Francis Meli is not on 140K a year. Its only 70K a year and his wife gets 70K for washing the 1st team Kit.'"
...and how much will Morley's wife get for ironing it?

| Quote: gutterfax "Francis Meli, 34, signed on for £140,000 a year and yesterday 36-year-old Adrian Morley agreed a one-year deal. Coach Brian Noble is also keen to land full-back Paul Wellens, 33.
let's be generous and say £450,000 on those three.......combined age of 99 on 25% of your cap........
Morley will be on pennies even minimum wage i suspect for 2014. He will though see a massive pay rise come 2015 when he takes up his new role on the coaching team. HTH

Ouch - he looked ok a couple of years ago, Tigers gave him big money, and he's been garbage for them, so they've been trying to offload him and Adam Blair to anyone who'd have them.
Signings like Pettybourne and Sau are awful, but a sign of the times for Superleague. For the money they'll be on, they're nothing more than average at best. Sau doesn't get a game in the NRL anymore, even when Melbourne are struggling with injuries, Sau is about 5th choice. Pettybourne only gets selected at the Tigers because they're god awful at the moment. It says it all that Liam Fulton (ex-hudds) is regarded much higher than Pettybourne.

| From the Wests games I have seen so far Pettybourne has looked pretty poor, quite surprised at the signing.

The fact that Wests have not only agreed to release him, but have actually been shopping him around only half a season into a multi year big money contract says it all. I would guess Wests will probably still be paying some of his salary. Also, the fact no other NRL club picked him up shows what kind of form he's been in.

| Does the form of guys like Blair and Pettybourne not say more about Wests then them though? I can't comment too much on Pettybourne having not seen much of him but Blair was exceptional pre Wests. It's all well and good saying he was playing in a great side at Melbourne but he was very good for the Kiwi's as well.
Hopefully we can help Pettybourne refind some form.

Even in a poor side, a decent forward should still eat up his yards and make his tackles - both Blair and Pettybourne have been awful. Pettybourne has spent alot of the year on the sidelines, and has been taken over by a few youngsters in the pecking order now. Pettybourne was just ok at Souths, with the odd barnstorming run, but when Wests offered big money, Souths didn't even try and compete. He never held down a regular spot at Souths, being a bench player at best. He's been a bad signing for Wests - he may go ok over here, but doubt he will offer value for money.

| Lulia is leaving Bradford to move back to the NRL at the end of the year, L'Estrange might be going too and Langley has not been offered a new deal so he is likely going to be leaving Odsal too

I am sure Madge made it clear that he wanted to keep pettybourne but couldn't value him to what west's was offering, he endorsed him on more than one occasion for he's work rate and attitude. And it was Madge who referred Wane to pettybourne.
