You can get a government grant to assist you in overcoming most problems similar to yours .
The best player in the world is exactly what it says on the tin , and it is voted for by people who in general have half an idea what they are talking about .
If you pay attention you will see the title IS NOT 'Best player wearing a particular number on his shirt or playing any chosen position' .
The world 13 was chosen by people deciding who was the best individual in each position on the field . Each of those chosen have been judged to be the best at doing a specific job in a specified position . It does not mean that any of the chosen 13 are by any means the best player in the world . It just means that they are considered to be the best in a given position .
Are you understanding what I am trying to say , or shall I repeat myself but shuffle the words again ?
The 'best player in the world' may not be the best in any given position . For example . Ryan Hall is recognised by many people as the worlds best winger . That does not mean he is in with a shout of the golden boot . It just means he is good on the wing .
I believe that Mr Sinfield has been awarded the title for having been the best team captain ( note this is not a specific shirt number or field position ) and ( as many people have already posted) most influential leader of men out on the field of play in 2012 .
Hope that clears things up for the unsure/unwashed/overfed/uneducated .
By the way . As so many people have posted that Kevin has been the most influential team player in the world (but not 'the best' ) are any of them prepared to man up and admit that he should have been awarded the MOS ?

| Quote: LyndsayGill "Usual Aussie rantings, "we can't have our own way, so we're going to sulk". They see it as "a snub" to their players because one of them didn't win it. Has anyone told them that they don't have a God given right to win it every year. Their arrogance knows no bounds.'"
You could quite easily apply that to the Goons as well! I suspect all the unsavoury characters we shipped over there were from a small town in Greater Manchester.

Whilst I get what you're saying............surely if you're the best player in the World then you're the best in your position also? You wouldn't expect people to pick Lionel Messi as the best player in the World for example but then choose Ronaldo and Van Persie ahead of him in a World XI would you? If you're the best player in the World then nobody else is deemed to be better than you so if you play full back then surely you're the best full back in the World?

| But all these different teams/awards are chosen by different people at different times, why is everyone so sure the people who chose the world 13 got it right and the people who voted for the golden boot got it wrong?
I'm sure if the dream team and MOS were chosen at a more appropriate time (I.e after the whole season) we would have seen Sinfields name

| I really don't think Sinfield is the best in the world, but the fact that it seems to have riled so many Australians and Wigan fans makes the decision more than worthwhile.

| I don't think if Leeds would have lost to Warrington in the Grand Final that Sinfield would have even been nominated for the Golden Boot.
Like i've said before he's a good Pro but over the season there was 5 players who were better?

| I'm not a fan of Sinfield by any means but well done to him.
We get one over the Aussies and people are still moaning?
I don't understand some people.

| Some people may not like it and say it's wrong and that it makes the RL look bad but sometimes when awards are given out a person's career can't help but be considered rather than just 12 months, just look at the recent Sports Personality of the Year......
6 women won a gold medal at the Olympics yet only Katherine Grainger made the 12 nominees, why? Because of her story of finishing 2nd at three previous Olympics.
Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny and Laura Trott all won 2 medals at the track cycling yet only Hoy was in the 12 nominees, why? Because of his successes at previous Olympics meaning he become Britain's top gold medal winner with 6.
Steve Redgrave won 5 golds yet only won SPOTY on the 5th one.
Ryan Giggs (1st) in 2009 and Phil Taylor (2nd) in 2010 surely more to do with 20 years of success rather than the past 12 months.
With Sinfield you can't help but think of his 10 years as captain. How much the club has change under his captaincy both on and off the field. And at the end of the day it's their magazine, they can vote for whoever they want and it's provided a bit more publicity for the sport over here than it would if an Aussie had won it and aren't people always complaining that we don't promote our competition enough?
And no he's not the most naturally skillful player but it's quite refreshing to see a player win awards based on his dedication, determination, hard work and what he has between his ears, rather than always falling at the feet of the most naturally gifted. It sends out a much better message than football and cricket who fall at the feet of the likes of Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney and Kevin Pietersen, all of whom have massively let teammates down and been forgiven because of their ability when other less talented players wouldn't be allowed to have their behaviour.

| I tend to get on my high horse when Sinfield is talked about in such high regard but to be fair to the lad it's not his fault. It's Eddie and Stevo who put him on a depestal and most of the small minded viewers seem to think the commentators know what they're talking about. It's got that bad that when I watch Leeds on SKY SPORTS now I tend to just watch Sinfield to see if i'm missing something. Even before the Grand Final kicked off I knew he'd get the MOM due to Eddie & Stevo's blind love for him persuading the media, so much so I put money on it and won a tidy sum. He was no where near MOM and Ablett must have been spitting feathers. Credit to Sinfield though he took a nasty knock and got up without causing a fuss. A few weeks before the GF the Rhinos played a play off game and as usual I paid special attention to Sinfield, in the first 20mins he put a high ball up that went backwards, got caught with ball on the last tackle, dropped a ball and threw a pass into the crowd aiming for Hall(I think) but then put a cross field kick to Hall to score and Stevo nearly creamed his pants that Mr Consistent was the star of the game. It just beggers belief that people are so blind to see that he's just an average player who can kick a decent goal.
