I know fully well who he played for. I was just marvelling at the hypocrisy of the original statement. "Put aside your club biases, the real choice is the player from my club!"
He'd be a great choice but the statement was stupid.

| If the '66 World Cup was held in another country, with Bobby Moore captaining a victorious England team, there'd still be a statue of him outside Wembley.
Neil Fox is certainly deserving of a statue, but it'd be more fitting at Belle Vue surely? (Yes, I know he played for other clubs too).
The statue, IMO, should be of someone that fans of every club feel some sort of affinity with, someone who has achieved the highest acolade in the sport - captaining your country to a Wolrd Cup victory, for instance.

| Don Fox is the Wembley moment. If it could be done tastefully and with his family's approval then that's the one.
If not Andy Gregory would be a good choice, a far better player than Edwards and no RU to tarnish his name.

It's not a statue simply to commemorate a great RL player or moment - it's to commemorate RL's affinity with Wembley, and that by consequence means CC Finals, and Ashes or World Cup Tests held at Wembley.
Whoever or whatever it represents must be Wembley-related.
There are certain moments that stand out in the wider public memory, and there are certain players who made Wembley special for whatever reason.

| The winning suggestion for me is having both Offiah & Fox. For me i would add the famous old trophy in there as well.

A statue of Hull FC not winning then....

So because I'm a Wakefield fan I'm incapable of offering an objective view on whether Neil Fox is a good candidate?
Is my statement only valid if it comes from a non Wakefield supporter, if so why?
Here's a tip fella, don't judge everyone by your own standards!

Absolutely not. I said nothing of the sort, and if you want to put forward Neil fox then that is your right and is a decent choice.
It was you who told people to put aside club biases and then nominated one of your own club. If people want to mention someone who made a decent contribution from their own club then that's their right too. Your statement was worth pointing out as a double standard.
Now you are furthering the problem by complaining about me doing the same to you when I did nothing of the sort.
