Don't know if you have ever been to Wagga... but there is nothing whatsoever to do there.
Well there wasn't when I last went there about 15 years ago

| Rain? Is that it.....there was no bu99er there because it was raining
sub 12,000 is a disgrace.......anyone got any crowd predictions for the game this weekend? I mean the Bookies will surely have Australia as 30 point favourites......will we see another disgraceful crowd if it starts to rain

its posts like this why people accuse you of being a troll.
11,000 wouldve been a good enough crowd as it was not withstanding the rain.

I think you'll find they accuse me of being a troll because I don't agree with their point of view.......
Quote: dally messenger "11,000 wouldve been a good enough crowd as it was not withstanding the rain.'"
Sorry.......11,000 is terrible for a game played in an area with 9 NRL teams......even if it had been snowing the ground should still have sold out weeks ago.
If Wellington RL, with the support of NZRL could get 20,000 + to the cake tin, with bus loads of fans coming from places up to an hour away, then the Australian RL should have easily sold every thicket for this game if they had tried......but they patently didn't bother.....11,000 for a professional RL Test featuring the worlds best team is awfull..........FFS 30,117 turned up in Limerick to see Australia win the first international rules test....a competition run by the Amateur GAA........

it's in Melb. they're not as soft as Sydney! (and they've got a decent stadium that will cope with a bit of rain)

No. But it killed the walk-up crowd.
As rain often does...
Seems to be more of a problem in Sydney as I mentioned elsewhere. For some reason Sydneysiders seem to think it doesn't rain there, hence all the hills at football grounds (and cricket grounds) for years - although they are being phased out in favour of seating. Yet still without a roof generally...
I know this is hard for the average English rugby league fan to fathom, especially in the old winter football days.
I too think poor weather can add to a game in the right circumstances. I've been drenched in Sydney at the football the two times I have been there this year - the First Origin and the GF. Huge crowds despite the rain but you would expect that for an event.
The ARL stand condemned for not promoting much at all in the last 15 years. The NRL have been better but still deficient.

Agreed, it should have been in PNG. Said that before the 4N started.
And the problem seems to be in Sydney with rain, not anywhere else in Australia, when it comes to attendance reductions.
