Quote: SmokeyTA "So i ask you again, why should a club like Leeds, or Warrington, or even Hull FC, abide by rules 'for the good of the game' like the Salary Cap to keep clubs like Hull KR competitive if Hull KR feel under no obligation to make any contribution to the stability of the game?

And you are wrong, under the license system you do need to justify your contribution to the game.'"

because those are the rules, just like HKR are operating within the rules. If a club wants to ask for exepmtions on salary cap then they can, if they get it then so be it that will be the RFL's decision.

ps we have a multi millionaire backer on our board, they can up the salary cap if they like, we'll still be spending full.

They are rules that could be legally challenged, If Wire have no obligation to act for the good of the game why shouldnt they challenge those rules?

and similar to the RFLs compromising on quota rules, it wasnt the RFLs decision, it was the RFLs attempt at doing what was best for the game in a very difficult legal area with some clearly hostile clubs

ps, your backer isnt in the same game as Caddick or Moran, never mind the same league money wise.

Not quite. Neil Hudgell said last November further cost cutting measures over the short/medium term. However, to fundamentally reach the break even and positive position we need to be playing in front of a core 10,000 audience. To do that, we need better facilities. We need to finish the east stand and also develop the north stand facility. If we don’t do that and don’t get help in achieving that the longer term picture isn’t great. "

You might take that as Crossland's willingness to bankroll Rovers forever to whateveer the maximum salary cap might be, even if it is increased. I'm not sure that's what Hudgell is saying though. icon_wink.gif

a gee up for council support for ground development and for fans to get behind the club imo. I am sure Crossland would rather not be putting his mopney into HKR but all the signs so far is he is committed to doing so. Any business worht its salt is looking to make a small profit without directors financial involvement, HKR are no different, doesn;t mean directors won't if they needed to though.

how a fan of a club that has signed the quality of overseas imports as HFC over the last few years can make any comment on this subject is a "beyond a joke" in its own right.

This season: Fitz (SOO - 11 caps, Aussie rep - 19 caps) O'Meley (SOO - 10 caps, Aussie rep - 15 caps) Berrigan (SOO - 13 caps, Aussie rep - 13 caps), Yak (4 Aussie GF's, a WCC winners medal and a premiership)

are our Aussies.

In the past we've had some poor ones e.g. Todd Bryne who I admit offerred nothing more than a British player would but atleast he somewhat made it in the NRL with over 100 apperances. Dykes was also an iffy signing because of his injuries but there was no doubting his class.

Compare this to some of your Aussie in Ben Fisher, Dobson and Lovegrove who are all NRL rejects who couldn't even break in to their respective first teams for one year.

Moa and Hame? Hame has played about 70 games in the NRL so hardly a reject, 15th in tackle busts despite playing limited time. Moa is relatively unknown however it's well known England fail to produce impact props and we have to bridge the gap with overseas players.

So its ok for you to bridge any gaps with overseas players? Yet we do it and its a crime on a par with Hitler

Fisher - Helped us get promoted and has been a fixture in the side for the last 5 years

Lovegrove - Signed when nobody else wanted to sign for us in 2007 (including British players on loan)

Dobson - Made the Super League dream team and is the current Albert Goldthorpe medal holder.

And I don't know why you all worry, these players will all be eligible for England soon icon_wink.gif

The point is some of your current overseas players are very average, have no experince to pass on and clog up the system for young English players who could offer the same and potentially more.

I can name atleast 10 English hookers who are better than Fisher:
Diskin, Roby, Moore, Lunt, Robinson, Houghton, Godwin, Clarke, Higham, Hudson

and atleast 10 English props who are better than Lovegrove:
Peacock, Morley, Carvell, LMS, Scuton, Fielden, Lynch, Griffin, Mason, Harrison.

Yet despite this you are (alledgedly) asking for dispension again.
