Do you worry about building RL in a country which doesn't give a sh*t about it? Because last time I checked, there are probably 3-4x more people in England who don't give a sh*t about it than there are people in Wales altogether.

thats the point i was making with the other guy yesterday - if you have no interest in Union (which i dont !) then you may as well tell all that to a moonrock, unless you read or watch things Union then people wont have heard of him even if he played a million times for Wales and scored 500 tries in one season.
I wouldn't know any of the English Union team if they passed me in the street so i have absolutely 0% of recognising players from other countries ! |

He was in the news, front of any Sports Site you would look at, because he came out of the closet. I don't give a flying monkey about Association Football, but I can still name half of the England team (why? I'm not even English!) because it's in the news and I don't live with a bag on my head.
Because I don't live with a bag on my head I can name the following union players:
Wales: Henson, Gareth Thomas, Steve Jones, Hook
England: Flood, Wilkinson, Johnson, Mike Catt (or "My Cat" as the mrs reffers to him), Cipriani
Scotland: Patterson
Italy: Bergamasco (*3 now)
Ireland: O'Driscoll, D'Arcy
France: Michalak, Harinordikay, Bastardeau
Admittedly some of them are known because of girlfirends or silly names, but unless you don't follow the news or sports you will know who these people are - the only possible scenario is that whenever you see the word "union" you change the channel, at which point should you really be commenting on this?
If it was a player coming from Association, or even Cricket, chances are you would recognise the name, claiming you don't recognise a well discussed sports character is just not believeable, hence why everyone is calling you on it. |

Right, i'm commenting because i wanted to know how big a signing this would have on a RL team because i dont follow Union so i am not aware of the players in that particular sport..........i dont read newspapers and i dont watch TV apart from football and Rugby league.
i dont wear a bag on my head i just dont have any interest in Rugby Union at all, i am not calling the sport of Rugby Union in this debate but merely trying to find out who the guy is and what impact it would have on RL and trying to understand how big a signing it could be for the sport.
I'm sorry i cant name any Rugby Union players, neither can i name most premier league footballers even though i am a football fan, just because someone is big in a certain sport or has been in the news doesn't mean everyone has to have heard of them.
Like i said i dont read the papers i dont watch TV so how would i have heard of this fella ?
