ive already commented that i think Wakey have too many overseas players.
My point is,how keen and eager are the RFL to cut down on players from overseas when they suggest ways around the rules.
Wakey have far too many, the game has far too many, but as soon as the game tried to cut down the amount, clubs went looking for ways around it and asking for exemptions, players threatening legal action etc.........
Would love to see the day when clubs only have max 2/3 top class overseas players.
Unfortunately doubt i will live to see it!!!'"
i agree, and wakefield are one of (if not the worst) example of this
however, the steps that would need to be taken for clubs only being allowed to have 2/3 overseas players (i personally think 4/5 is fine as a maximum) would mean some clubs would be have to suffer being crap for a while and their fans wouldnt accept that

Really not sure who started the ball rolling with exemptions etc...
Simon Finnegan/Bradford -- maybe, then HKR started with Stanley Gene -- maybe.
If there is a desire for the national team to compete on a regular basis with Aus. at some point the fans, chairmen, sponsors etc.. are going to have to take a leap of faith. But there in lies the problem it appears few clubs would put country and the game before club.

The Morrison brothers started it. you've signed one of them! Simon Finnegan was born in Warrington and is of irish decent.
All of this arguing is pointless anyway because you already have his replacement according to Wakies board - Paul Johnson is training and wearing Wakie kits in training and he's English.

Just because i think Wakefield are good at finding a way to fit players into the squad, doesnt mean i take pleasure in it.Im purely making an observation, which is undeniably true.
I could also say,Wakey are bl00dy good at getting themselves into a financial hole, which again is true, doesnt mean i take pleasure in it.
I have commented earlier that i think Wakey have far too many overseas players and the game as a whole has far too many.'"
Do not try and become the 'grammar / dictionary police' your posts show that you are not up to the job.
There is no evidence whatsoever that wakey are bl00dy good at it. If you think they are then you do not understand the RFL rules You are confusing wakey's pathetic policy of recruiting many 'exempt' overseas players with them being good at something.

Morrison brothers??Sorry Wadski didnt even know Glen Morrison had a brother.
Do you mean Hendersons?
Who were born in Torquay.
Im still sure it was Finnegan that started it,as like Henderson brothers he was born in England, but didnt meet fed trained criteria.
If it was the Morrison clan, please accept my apologies.

Not touchy at all. Your ignorance is all too familiar.
I have not said they are outside the rules. simply that having 10/11 non fed players and chasing a macedonian passport is pathetic for a Sl club of 10 years.
Also while a moron may think the application of simple RFL rules to the nth degree is being bl00dy good at something. It simply does not follow.
Anyone could think the proliferation of 2 year contracts at wakey + hanging onto 'exempt' overseas players is the strategy of a club running itself down til the end of the licence period.

There are different types of exemptions'. Only some relate to Brit born non fed trained. Others relate to non fed trained players who had completed a season in the UK prior to the 07 season. This later point being important when the rules moved to quota + non fed trained classifications. Do try and keep up there.

Im simply trying to establish with Wadski whether it was Henderson or Finnegan that set the ball rolling.

See, I don't mind PNG or other smaller nations players getting a game over here, it's the Aussies who aren't good enough for the NRL which help no-one out.

Really, but you wrote:

Two seperate exemption types. Try not to confuse them.

That is TOTAL rubbish and you know it!!!
A good, well trained and coached team will play well in any stadium!!!
To be fair however it is one of the better excuses given as to why teams are not winning everything in sight

I will add your toe curling attempt at amateur psychology to the list of non RL responses made by wakey fans. Implying that you can work out emotions and motivations from RL posts is dilusional Do carry on if you feel compelled to do so. But perhaps on a different forum?
Back to topic.
The licences were granted in early 08. (So the threat of annual relegation was removed). This has given clubs 2 rounds of recruitment to date. So there has been ample time to reduce non fed trained numbers. Wakey have chosen not to do so. Infact during 09 we saw 2 young prospects - Pitts and Bibb - farmed out and an NRL reserve grader was flown half way across the world to make.....5 SL appearances! Now they are after macedonian passports
