| Quote: Pepe "All those "losses" are part of the club restructuring that happened after SOC took over. Every penny was paid for by Syeve O'Connor in the form of a gift. Widnes vikings currently have no debts.'"
great, but relying on the kindness of strangers isnt a business plan is it
the important point is, that restructuring needed doing, those losses would be made, and a company a few months after going to the wall saying they were going to incur big losses during the necessary restructuring and that for the time being both their status as a going concern aswell as the funding for this necessary restructuring was only going to come in the form of gifts is hardly a company showing its position as a viable entity

But it was the only real reason put forward as rejection.
Not the business plan.

i refer you to
Quote: Pepe "because, as you are choosing to ignore, there was a chance, Widnes' bid just wasnt good enough to ignore the financial issues which had gone previously
they could however have submitted a better bid, that was good enough to ignore the financial issues which had gone before, but they didnt,
the RFL couldnt have known whether the bid they submitted was good enough or not until they had judged it, and they couldnt have judged it until it had been submitted'"

Widnes put forward a business plan for the following 3 years with a £500,000 guarantee to support this plan. This is pretty much of a cast iron guarantee as any club could've put forward.
The kindness of strangers eh?

Of course , the RFL were not aware of the situation at Widnes until the application was submitted , it was
" Oh , they went into administration last year , how did we miss that one "

I wonder what would happen if Laporte offered to decline Sky funds for three years for a licence for Paris? Dya reckon the RFL and the other SL clubs would bite his hand off? Probably.

This is what I understand has been offered. And yes, if the RFL want to continue with expansion, they'd be crazy not to go along with such an offer.

How much would he have to put up as a ' bond ' for them to take him seriously ?
You'd have to be looking at 10 million to stand any chance IMO

But they'd be a new company with no history of support.
