| Quote nottinghamtiger="nottinghamtiger"True. Salford have also lost Josh Griffin and Caton-Brown though.
I'm not too sure how strongly Leeds and Huddersfield can play the injury card. Everyone seemed to have major problems last year (bar Hull FC).'"
Griffin will be a loss and we need to find a decent replacement. Caton-Brown missed a large chunk of the season and was more a squad player that found some attacking form towards the end of the season. Caton-Brown has pace to burn but he can be vulnerable under a high ball and his defence needs more work. We got nothing from Vidot this year after his injury and it will be interesting to see if he stays and if he does how he goes in 2017.
As for the injuries I think both clubs lost some influential players from 2015 that compounded their injury problems. Peacock, Sinfield, Ferres and Robinson was forced to retire early in 2016.

| Catalans have 9 players on the way out and only 2 on the way in, as things stand. Hopefully this is a sign they have a new crop of young players to bring through.

| Quote onlyanorthernsoul="onlyanorthernsoul"True enough but we had about 9-10 first teamers out at any one time for 3/4 of the season. It caught us out as we had a light squad really, then there was losing the quality of Ferres and Robinson having to retire. Not sure its the worst of any team but I've watching the giants for 20 odd years and I can't remember a season like it. Having said that we still lost most games by only a score or two so I'd like to think we'll be a different beast next season, with or without anymore signings.'"
Exactly, whilst injuries, early season disruptions and detached team spirit didn't help our cause, we finished bottom because we didn't win enough games, we blew enough chances to win most of those games, so nobodies fault but our own.

| Slight correction to the first post...
Daniel Murray coming in at Salford came from Warrington not through Salford ranks.
Sorry for being anal.

Not many had more injuries than us and we're now sitting pretty as Champions.

| Ahhh the good old club development of young players is as good or worse than it has ever been.
Reserve teams for SL clubs anyone?

True enough, injuries are part and parcel and Wigan did well.
However Wane mentioned it every game as did Eddie and Stevo and gained much sympathy yet at the end of the season when Wakefield were riddled with injuries and suspensions mainly to their better players this was not mentioned and certainly never used to explain our obvious lack of form at the end of the season - one rule for one etc from the hpypocritical world that is RL.

That's because Wigan - big club, Wakefield - small club.
If they folded tomorrow no one would give a sh*t except for the ten people that show up (and I'm round up the numbers there).
It's f*cking tin pot clubs like Wakey and Cas that are forcing the RFL to persist with the salary cap and thus driving down the quality of Super League every year until we inevitably become nothing more than a feeder competition for Union and the NRL.

Wow, there are some very valid points in that rant, and we are definitely in danger of being a feeder comp/game
