I would bring back being able to play the ball to yourself after being tackled AND maybe even allow the marker to strike at the ball - it used to make us all concentrate on playing the ball correctly, if we were slipshod we knew that the marker could strike - obviously refs would need to rigorously enforce correct play the balls

I'd like to see the sin bin changed to either a five or ten minute period depending on the severity of offence.

I think that would give the refs more chance to punish lesser offences like dissent and holding in the tackle or obstruction without a 10 minute penalty, which can have a big effect on the games outcome

clark and ratchford are 2 of the worst for it and even hill has started doing it.

1. Allow penalty advantage for up to two tackles. Often a team loses momentum if penalty given.

2. Allow a team to finish their set if hooter goes (hull kr should have cheated last tackle yesterday and got defence set)

The ref's call when it goes to the V.R should go, if not, at least get some decent technology to assist his decision.

When a pinpoint kick to the in-goal is just raked out of play is infuriating.

I also like the seven tackle rule used in Aus when the ball goes dead.

Do away with the rule where they can scoop a kick out and play it dead.

The current grounding of the ball situation is fine, because it eliminates grey areas, all you have to do is find a frame where a part of the hand and the ball are touching at the same time as the ball touches the ground. As soon as you start going into ''downward pressure'' territory it gets left open to interpretation, they'll be inconsistency and the very people who want it changed will be the ones moaning loudest at the decisions when it is.

Agree with most of this, but to deal with the back chat and abuse of officials, if any player is found guilty of this he automatically concedes a penalty kick direct in line with the posts, from wherever the offence occurred, if the non offending team don't score or get the ball dead they get to start a set from where the offence took place, that would soon put a stop to it!
Also if a player is found guilty of trying to buy or milk a penalty by moving off the mark, into the markers or just playacting, then he concedes a turnover from where it happened.
Once teams start conceding possession and points the coaches and players would soon have it drilled out of them I'm sure.

Oh and get shut of the video ref!

Definitely need to change the one where you can put a foot over the line and scoop the ball out, making it too easy to defend excellently placed kicks.

Also the tackled player moving off the mark or placing the ball behind the markers legs to play them offside.

There's far too much gamesmanship creeping in and its ruining the honesty of our 'working class' sport.

The ref's call has been proven time and again to be egregious - that also needs removing.

The only other thing is to take control of the ruck back from cheating coaches and players - police and enforce it to the letter of the laws until the infringements stop and the game can flow again.
