| I'm another one in favour of Widdop at full-back. He's played there plenty and done fine, as already mentioned. He's a better full-back than he is a half in my book, and there are people who deserve a shot at his half-back shirt. But I'm not expecting Bennett to be too adventurous. And I might be quite wrong! It's going to be interesting to see.
Watching Hardaker in the NRL, I can see how he'd be bullied where Widdop wouldn't.

| The most surprising thing about Hardaker is how physically soft he's looked in the NRL. He loses the collision most of the time and his one-on-one defence is just weak. I'd say its partly down to the greater physicality in the NRL, but he also didn't help his cause much by messing around all year for Leeds. He doesn't seem too sharp and may not have noticed how his body was slowly deteriorating, certainly compared to last season. If he stays in the NRL I'd imagine he'll be much heavier and stronger next year.

| Despite not having any love for ST I think at the moment he's shown enough to get the nod, Shaul doesn't have enough in his locker in other departments as yet.
I remember Richard Horne being played at FB at Hull and plenty saying he was in the running for the GB FB spot even back in 2001, quite honestly if we'd had a 6 at the time he would have being in front of Wellens. Luckily for PW we didn't and not being a 'top' club didn't help either.
So, if Widdop is deemed to be the best person for the FB role then I wouldn't have any qualms about that

| I think the "love in" with Tomkins is over and he shouldn't be on that list, currently stat wise (taking into account early season injured) he is the worse full back in Superleague. His go forward making metres is atrocious and his clean breaks is shocking compared to the 2013 version, there is also the factor that his defending is very hit and miss especially taking a high ball.
Jamie Shaul has improved a lot these last 2 seasons, he has a safe pair of hands and is positional play in attack and defence is much better these days.

| Quote Trainman="Trainman"Because he has been playing wing/centre for Penrith. He also IIRC only played a few games at FB for Leeds then was dropped then shifted to the wing (apologies if I don't recall correctly)'"
This season with his many problems yes, but he is reigning Man of Steel, and he won that playing full back. All I'm saying is that if you're going to have a vote on who should be England's full back then not having England's current full back as one of the options seems a little remiss.

I see your point, my intention was to put him as an option for centre purely because he has played there for full back. There will always be a difference of opinion over players and where they should play. For example Sam Burgess could be prop, second row or loose. I'd hazard a guess that most would have him in their England team, if he was a vote option for each position he could get selected in several positions or none so for the purposes of this I felt I had to limit a player to one position and chose the one they have been playing most recently. It's not foolproof I know but couldn't think of a better way.
To add to that I went through the 19 pages of the England thread and made sure all suggestions in there were in the poll, Hardaker wasn't suggested by anyone at full back.

| Has to be Lomax for me, in this day and age your fullback has to be able to play as an extra pivot and I don't think Shaul is good enough in this regard.

| I think Lomax is very underrated. I think he's absolute class!
Ratchford is never a full back, by the way.

| Tomkins, or Lomax IMO. They're the most complete full backs we have.
