| I'm very happy with how Hull are looking just now, people talk about our big pack but we have threats all over the field and can score tries from anywhere. Team spirit is good, conditioning is excellent, the squad has great depth, and we don't ever seem to know when we're beaten.
However there's an awful long way to go yet. I don't see us missing out on the top four now, but who knows how we will be playing when the semi finals roll around. The fact that we are in the hunt for all three trophies make life more difficult too. If we make the CC final then the games really start to stack up, and if we win the cup I can see it being difficult to reset and go again afterwards. A Wembley win would mean so much to the club.
I have a lot of faith in this group of players, but there's too much that could happen yet for me to confidently predict a GF appearance.

| Quote: JEAN CAPDOUZE "Hull FC have got to be favourites for one spot at Old Trafford on current form. But who the other team is likely to be will depend on form at the back end of the season. Warrington definitely need Christopher Sandow playing in order to be contenders. Wigan need to be at full strength to be a serious prospect. Sean O'Loughlin and Liam Farrell are important for them.
Next week's game between Catalans and Leeds will be an indicator of Catalans prospects. Although they are missing Richard Myler, if Catalans cannot beat the current out of sorts Leeds, even at Headingley, then I can't see Catalans making Old Trafford. However if they do win I think that they are still well in the mix, especially given that the valuable Richard Myler is still to return, late in June perhaps, and the talented Paul Aiton will play again at some point.
Todd Carney and Richard Myler are a powerful creative combination for the Catalans team, and Eloi Pelissier and Paul Aiton will make the best hooker alternation combo in Super League.'"
The best hooker combination in super league is Danny Houghton playing 80 minutes. Followed by James Roby playing 80 minutes

Don't disagree but Clark/Dwyer are devastating offensively but hookers in SL are poor in general.

| Quote: Willzay "Can't see past a Wigan/Hull final - questions marks over Wire because of their dependency on Sandow. Catalans have been blowing hot and cold recently.'"
Can't see past those 4 for the playoffs but in a playoff semi any of them could beat each other and home advantage could go to any of them as it stands. One or two key injuries or suspensions could also make or break who wins the semis. One team who has an advantage is Wigan because of their playoff experience and reaching the GF. Warrington have also but they've had a number of personnel changes since they last got to Old Trafford.
Really not sure how Saints are still in the mix and with Warrington and Catalans their next two games ey could fall further off the pace n the next two weeks. Castleford are looking good of late but have probably given themselves too much catching up to do, in that regards losing to Wigan on Thursday might've been the game that made it a bridge too far.

| Us and Catalans is what I want but I think it will be us and Warrington which would probably create a closer, higher quality game to be fair. Do not rule out Wigan though.

| Wire v Wigan. I just can't see Hull FC or Les Catalans getting the job done in the play off semis based on past experience of teams in similar positions (primarily Huddersfield), I can see the winner of their cup game going all the way in the CC though.

| Not sure where the "Wire rely on Sandow" is coming from. We've had (and still do have) far more players out than just Sandow.
For example, our game on Friday was the first time we've played our first choice 1, 6 & 7 in their right places. Not to mention Dwyer being out for a month has put a lot on Clark's shoulders, and we've played a number of games this year without any recognised out-and-out centres.
All that said we're still second after a tough April and May with a number of first team players out.
I fancy our chances of a GF appearance.

| i can't tell, taking emotion out of it, you'd like to think its between hull, catalans, wigan and wire.
But catalans could yet revert to type with away form, and home dirtiness
Hull might yet pull a huddersfield.
Wigan's season might get disrupted by this alleged altercation thats yet to play out, especially if it removes one of their better players/mos elect.
And warrington will probably get there and lose at the final hurdle, or get beat by saints in teh eliminator at the HJ, as is typical.
Who knows....

On the basis that you think a game v Warrington will create a higher quality game why do you want Catalans, is it because you're more confident of an FC victory?
I wouldn't mind a Hull FC v Warrington GF if I had a choice, not that I'd be more confident of a victory against you than say Wigan or Catalans (I know there's a long way to go and the top 4 isn't settled by any means) but I just think that it would be a cracking game

Although it's not something that I have the time or inclination to check, Sandow is certainly your most influential player this season and without him, Wire look ordinary.
His vision is superb and he can pick different plays in an instant.
Obviously you have plenty of other strike players and a decent pack so, if you can have a fit squad at the end of the season, Wire will probably make the GF.

| I wouldn't mind some new faces in the GF but I've gone for Warrington v Castleford. Was impressed with Cas at the Magic Weekend both on the field and the terraces.
