| The original post just sums up the modern game, & a reason I am giving up on sky, each club should get a fair share of TV exposure that means us Rovers & Trinity suporters & sponsors deserve our fair share. What we actualy get is the same old teams week after week. & as I will be at work for the derby at least I will be able to see it.

| Quote MattyB="MattyB"For this year at least?
Warrington v Widnes on Good Friday, first versus second, Cheshire Derby, full house expected. Most fans in Super League would love to see this game on TV but won't as we are made to suffer yet another Hull KR v Hull FC game which means naff all to everyone apart from bragging rights in Hull itself. Bottom place versus sixth?
Whilst the Hull clash has potential to be massive it fails year after year to mean anything (this ain't the early eighties anymore).
I fully expect Hull FC/KR fans to come back to me and say "Lets bin Wigan/Saints off SKY too", I really don't mean to insult and in our defence at least both Wigan & Saints have consistently contested around the top of the league for the last twenty five years, including many classic finals.
There was nothing to stop SKY quickly dropping the Hull KR/FC game and quickly re-arranging the Warrington/Widnes game as the 12:45 match.'"
Probably not, most would agree with you. The Hull derby is unlikely to be a classic. Why Sky want to show two or three of them a season God only knows.

| aren't the sky fixtures decided weeks in advance? in that case widnes might not have emerged as a top side at the time of fixture planning, and the game might not have been perceived as highly as it is now

| Sky make their decision at the start of the season and have to stick to it otherwise we'd have an endless stream of changed kick off times and change of dates which would do nothing but annoy fans who are going to the games. I mean no disrespect to Widnes but no one would have predicted they'd be top going into Easter and on paper before the season started the hull Derby would likely have been a better game. As it turned out Widnes v Warring prom should be a cracker.

| Warrington v Widnes has served up some crackers in recent years. Our win with 12 men at Warrington and Warrington's come from behind win against us in the play-offs. I'm surprised SKY did not try to get this derby (as well as the others) on to the programme if they had the capacity.

| If the poor quality of sky's live games are anything to go by this year, you'll probably see more "live" action than the actual "live" game

People suggesting this now would also criticise Sky/the RFL if they switched the kick off times at this late stage.

Yes there is. At this late stage there is not a cat in hells chance Cheshire police would agree to it.

Yep, i got to go with this too.
As someone who goes to a lot of live games the only time it does or feels like it will kick off is this game.
The Wire/Widnes cretins always seem to come out in force for this one and the atmosphere is very football like.
This is the only fixture i wouldn't consider bringing someone new into the sport from a 'family oriented' angle.
Although the atmosphere in the ground is usually quite vociferous and i like that.
