Maybe with Leigh it's pity or maybe smugness rather than hate given the money they have spent, the message they have spun and the failure that has prevailed. Who knows??

Utd are a big club, who have had lots of success and its typically British to follow the underdog!

I can't stand Leigh purely due to the attitude of a number of their numpty supporters on RL Fans... which is a shame because I've met a few half decent ones as well!;)

As for Utd, it's the success. I'm a Salford lad and a Utd fan and I don't notice the "we deserve to win everything" nonsense. It's a myth (like everyone in Manchester supports City!) that gets perpetuated by the media and fans of other clubs. Sure we have an element like most clubs but they're generally the glory hunters....

Oh and being a Salford fan I'm used to supporting $hit so it has helped to keep me grounded during Utd's successful era!;)

Could someone hate Leigh OR United? If so, the question becomes meaningless.
I was thinking of posting that neither are French, Yorkshire or Scouse and then add a comment about perennial chips and shoulders with those three but will not in case I cause offence [size=50(and my wife would kill me as she is a Yorkie)[/size.

As a City fan, and having followed Salford home and away for several seasons, , I feel I am in a good position to answer this question. However, for the sake of peace, I will refrain from entering the debate



I do find it amusing that so many United fans believe they are disliked because they are successful. Maybe that reflects why they support United and possibly the main reason why they developed a rivalry with Liverpool. Ship Canal? My ariss.

The "respect & god bless" comment is utterly hilarious, when you consider how disrespectful he is being towards Batley.
Maybe he should learn to have some respect for the other clubs in the comp.

Once Batley's playing budget was mentioned, should've at least acknowledged the performance of those players who deserved their win.

I dare say it was one of those occasions where no disrespect was intended, but the way it was written made it come across the wrong way.

The richest sports club in the world have allowed 250 million to be spent with a manager in charge who the supporters wanted to replace a manager who wasn't allowed to spend very much,in contrast.They were recently prevented from reaching the knock-out stages of a competition by Wolfsburg,a German club originally formed for car workers.

Originally part timers,presumably,and defeated an expensively assembled side.

Not unlike Batley,then.
