| I'd love Sinfield to win it but he obviously won't. Just having him profiled on the show is good for RL. It would also be an award based on his career rather than for having a particularly good year.
As for the ones who actually have a chance of winning, Fury would be my choice. Yes he's essentially only won one fight, but being the heavyweight championship is a huge thing, and love him or hate him he is entertaining. I have huge respect for Murray, but Davis cup aside he's had a pretty mediocre season by his standards. I wouldn't begrudge either Farrah or Ennis winning it. Just please anyone but Hamilton.

I'm not sure that homophobia is really the personality trait that SPOTY is after.

Can't see Farah making the top 3 for two reasons
Firstly a bit damage caused by the Salazar drug rumours and secondly he's got to contend with Ennis-Hill for the Athletics vote and that latter I think would get more.
Top 3 will be out of the following 4 of Murray/Fury/Ennis-Hill/Hamilton IMO.

Course not he plays for Leeds, it's that type of negative club only biase that holds the game back. Seriously can any one name a greater more successful captain.

| His nomination is made that much sweeter given England RU's failure at their home World Cup.

Tyson Fury will be up there now as well. Mind you the British sportsman / woman most written / spoken about this year has been Sam Burgess! Can't understand that he's not been nominated!

| It's symptomatic of the media bias against rugby league that it takes him to have to move to union to be nominated.

| Fury should win it really imo. Going into the backyard of the champ who was undefeated for a decade is some achievement and lets be honest, who really gave him a chance?
Murray winning would be fair enough too for me, but i suspect the Davis cup team already have the team award sown up.
