It would still be better if Catalans had far more home grown talent in their team. It was part of their creation,wasn't it, that this would happen.
Sadly like other SL clubs they have the problem of easier to buy than develop attitude prevalent in the game in "Europe"

What a sht signing, well below the usual standard Catalans sign from Australia. Pretty sad that after ten years plus Of full time training France still can't develop 4 outside backs of SL quality.

To be fair, the young lad the Cats have brought in at centre lately has been very impressive for them.
And although patchy, Inu on his day is a much better footballer than, say, Pomoroy.

How many outside backs do Catalan have though? They must debut a new centre/winger every week. Crazy how they stay under the cap as well.

The Catalans were without Todd Carney, John Zebolon Ta'ia, Michael Oldfield, and Ian Henderson, not to mention blockbusting centre-winger Vincent Duport (out injured for the season), and centre Viliami Sione Tonga. Mind you Frenchman Anthony Gigot from Avignon has been doing very well in the centre, as has Frenchman Mouad Yaha on the wing.
Fortunately they found their rhythm towards the very end, thanks in part to Jason Baitieri and Eloi Pelissier. 32-12 |
