As you'll know, the Barb/tv figures are quite a flawed thing to look at anyways as you can only record the games that made the top 10.

Saints vs Leeds at Langtree Park earlier this year took place on a busy week of football and didn't even make the Top 10, which was rounded off by a figure of 226k for the 10th most watched programme that week on SS1. So whilst it didn't make top 10 it would've still made quite a strong number, high 100's, possibly over 200k.

In July Wakey vs Widnes not only made the top 10 for that particular week, it finished as the 3rd most watched yet only attracted 87k.

I know the same issues will have faced the other seasons but you can't be sure to what extent, it just shows the whole pointlessness of using the agenda he's trying to do.

SKY will still be happy with that figure as the Catalan games are costing them barely anything to cover, as the pictures are from French TV with some graphics and commentary shoved on top.

It also looks like he's derived these figures by trawling back through the BARB weekly top 10s and finding the RL matches listed. Which, apart from being a pretty strange thing to do, clearly does not give an accurate reflection of the actual viewing figures because it's purely dependent on what channel the matches were broadcast on and what other sport was being shown that week.

Another popular retort is to select a figure you don't like, call it into question, and in doing so hope the rest of the figures are ultimately tainted by association.

Of course, if any figures had been omitted in the first place, there would have been accusations of being economical with the truth. The harsh reality of dealing with paranoid and insecure RL Moonie types, eh?



If it helps to comfort all those RL Moonies who cannot handle the bigger picture, I shall remove the Catalan data.

Do BARB's figures provide a more accurate reflection of actual viewing figures when they paint a more positive picture for SL instead?

When agenda driven attention seeking trolls who use to be so much better at this kind of thing find their latest 'target' dissected and found fatally flawed before the end of the 1st page they'll often resort to going back to a previous theme, in this case attendances.

Quality standards aren't just slipping in terms of the Super League it seems.

No, I really couldn't care less about the viewing figures, it just seems strange that you would go to so much effort to come up with a measure that is conjectural at best.

You've now accused me of an agenda for producing all of the Sky viewing figures.

On both occasions, I included everything for comparative purposes and left nothing out.

The figures are there for anyone to interpret in their own sweet way... even if that means omitting figures which they do not like, which, in your case would be the Catalan figures.
