Aside from the fact that we can't do it by outspending everyone. And let's not get carried away about winning things just yet - the mere fact that this would mean us surviving and having a well run club is enough for now.
Of course, this is all dependent on if it all goes through and nothing goes tits up at the last moment. At the minute I can definitely see the "Man city" connection in terms of our fans being annoying, giddy kippers at the prospect of it all. Cool your jets. |

I'm not getting giddy until a) the deal is fully signed and b) we do actually start to see an increase in fortunes. I'd say 95% of the people I know at Salford feel the same way. Cautiously optimistic. |

RL fans ability to go from zero to hero in 2 seconds flat never fails to amaze me. The game is littered with stories and promises like this - most of which hit the rocks.
You can only take him on face value and hope for the best. However to go from the near suicidal despair you were in 2 weeks ago to this we will conquer the world boast is ludicrous.
Breath a sigh of relief and quietly get on with building your club without the hyperbole would be sensible advice - not that you strike me as the sort to take such advice.

As others have said we Salford fans are not getting carried away and are just glad that we seem to have survived as a club. On a personal level going bust would have hurt me but top flight clubs going bust is not a good advert for RL in general. I genuinely would not wish other supporters to have to go through what we have the past few weeks. hopefully we will never have to again.
