| Quote William Eve="William Eve"Nope.
I was hoping for an international tour of NZ instead (the first since 1996) but the RFL didn't fancy it.
I'd have attended that.'"
the RFL did'nt fancy it cos the kiwis only wanted to play 1 game.......would you have gone all the way to NZ for 1 game?? no i did'nt think so!
Quote William Eve="JB Down Under"NZRL need the money, they would have jumped at the chance of a three test series. No idea why we didn;t arrange a tour for Eng featuring Eng v NZ and PNG. Would have bult the team spirit prior to the WC and given them a decent work out as a squad.'"
they had the chance, england wanted to tour!...and they did'nt jump at it lol......the RLPA, the nrl players union, killed any chances of any southern hemisphere international teams playing this year......the RFL wanted a pacific island team to play in this eng, france & wales comp..but cos the the RLPA agreement none of the NRL players would turn out rendering it pointless....look at the international schedule....none of the pacific teams are playing more than 1 game...if they are playing at all.........yet we full fixture list up here in europe

| would have preferred doncaster as a final venue - should be looking to fill a 15k venue for the final
in reply to the squad strength - cant see them playing an understrength side - the knights are also playing games and that is effectively england b

| What a waste of time this all is.
The matches will be poorly attended, because hardly anyone’s interested, for heavens sake, people can’t even be bothered to watch their own teams in the playoffs.
It was the ideal opportunity to arrange a proper W.C.C challenge match, whether over here, or in Aus.
It’s going to be like a damp squib following an uninspiring season, the only saviour would be a Wigan v Warrington G.F - just for a change.

| Lens? That has got to get points for randomness.
Anyone know what the thinking behind that is?

You are the typical example of the sort of fan that drags rugby league down. Glum, miserable and just loves putting the game down.
No wonder the matches are poorly attended when people like you do everything you can to write it off before it even takes place.

Believe the French RL president is also Lens' president or something along those lines?

The French rl are looking at thossibilityof expanding into new areas by pairing up with football clubs in order to launch a new pro league, this is sort of testing the water.
With regard to some other posters on this thread there's loads of negativity. Be happy that your nation are playing RL, go support them ffs! Regardless of who they are playing its still your country. I know I will be, Cymru am byth

Well, thank you for that brief synopsis.
I’m really impressed how you have analysed my character, based on so little information. I wasn’t aware that realism constituted being glum & miserable, whereas you’re wild optimism couldn’t possibly be construed as you striving for a utopian paradise.
Quote JonB95="JonB95"No wonder the matches are poorly attended when people like you do everything you can to write it off before it even takes place.'"
I doubt me posting my opinions on a forum will affect the number of people going along to watch, however, it that’s the case I apologise & I urge everyone to get behind this enthralling competition.
