Big loss for Catalans. A good guy and very passionate about the growth of rugby league in France. Add in the fact he was able to speak fluent french it was a good match.

Robinson is a good coach for the dragons & will be hard to replace, I hope they go for a French man or another with good knowlage of the french game "John Kear" with a French assistant being groomed for the job?.
It just shows the problem all clubs who appoint Aussies have, yes they are good but most are here to gain experiance & put them in the shop window for NRL jobs, or worse they can't get NRL jobs.

I agree. They must have someone who can continue the French team culture that Robinson and others have generated.

John Kear is the only available (?) and capable SL or NRL coach with a good knowledge of the French language.

After what Brian McClennan managed to do with a grand final NZ warriors side I would be sceptical about him. I dont know how he managed to go to a club with so many good players and at a minimum fail to make the top 8.

I think this is a massive loss to the league, a strong Catalan is good for SL.

That said, Catalan should find it easy to get a top quality replacement, the lifestyle down in the South of France is a big attracting to both UK and Aussie coaches.

If we win GF, maybe Tony Smith might be interested in the challenge - they're a decent squad, he could do a really great job with them

I do like the sound of Kear with maybe Guisset alongside him. We really need a quality French coach to step up in the future.

An experienced Aussie coach to develop Guisset? Or even give Guisset the top job now with a proven assistant?

You mean John Kear the current Batley coach? Doesn't exactly make him available.
