Quote wiretilidie08="wiretilidie08"When we played Wigan at the DW we made a huge amount of errors, and wigan had 74% possession to us having around the 60% mark today, we won both, so i dont really agree with that. Whenever we play Wigan we seem to bully them up the middle and that was clearly evident again today. Our defence and line speed in this last week has been nothing short of excellent and Wigan or Saints could not match that. I think what today has proven is that on their day Warrington are the best team in SL at the moment. (only my opinion of course) And long may it continue!'"
Fine, but that game is irrelevant, we're talking about today's game. If you can't see that Wigan's unforced mistakes played a big part in denying themselves possession, you don't understand RL. You won't win games if you keep turning the ball over, especially in dangerous territory, and especially against a side like Warrington.
Warrington were the better side by some margin, that's undeniable, but but part of them being the better side was making less mistakes than Wigan. On top of that their defence was fearsome and consistent, and they took their opportunities where Wigan didn't. Smith has worked wonders with their defensive structure.
Warrington were superb, everyone can see that. Wire fans don't need to push the issue and pretend they beat a flawless Wigan side, because Wigan were extremely poor.
