Doesn't seem to affect football though.

| I don't mind the idea. It's got it's pros and cons as any day would (and in typical RL fashion the fans have concentrated on the cons).
Pros - Sky will focus on us more in summer as opposed to being stuck in the middle of several other sports broadcasts. Potentially more viewers and this more money in the future.
Cons - Attendances may take a hit. With work that day, it suffers the same issues as Fridays. But with work the day after as well, it has more issues.
If they were to do this, I think it would be in the game's best interests to have the games local, ie Salford/Widnes/Saints/Wire/Wigan or Leeds/Bradford/Hudds/Wakey/Cas. Plenty of combos there to keep you through summer.

| Have to say it would be awful for me. Already difficult to attend evening KOs after work. Mondays would be impossible.
If they start messing around then i really would have to consider the value of getting a season ticket

These are not extra games, they'd replace saturday games. and as a viewer, I'd want to see matches live. its not like the early 90s when avoiding the score till sky showed a match delayed at 7pm on a sunday was easy.

| Think its a great idea personally if it gets marketed right it could be seen as a big thing like MNF is in Football and NFL.
Hopefully there could be highlights of the weekends games with some analysis after the broadcasted game has finished.

No as ratings would be lower. For Sky its all about having as much LIVE sport as possible during evenings. This was the main reason why Co-op RL was played on a Thursday.

| As we are in the pocket of the TV boys, I guess the games will be when Sky want them.
Interesting backing up on Friday evening, if you've played on Monday. Ouch !

You reckon?
What will Sky do differently to promote the game that they don't already do for Fridays and Saturdays?
It's not like they've overrun with other live sport to show on a Friday, but it doesn't lead to wall-to-wall previews and coverage of that night's live game.
Sky shifting a game to Monday is a step backwards in terms of their RL coverage IMO - it puts it on a par with other midweek fillers like greyhound racing and speedway.

| Brilliant, the semi pro clubs have to put up with it for no monetary compensation, so lets see how happy the big boys like it

Can't agree. To me it shows that SKY see SL as one of it's crown jewels and wants to expand it. Ifi t's good enough for football. SKY aobviously think a lot of RL to truy this move.
But i don't think it will work, even football attendances suffer on Monday nights. RL couldn't cope and we would see scores of empty seats.

Yes but you have less travelling distance than any of the other clubs.
Get on with it and embrace the publicity.

| would severely deplete attendance figures IMO.
RL values itself as a family sport. Its one thing asking families to allow their kids a late night on a friday when the weekend is free. Its another thing entirely when kids have school the next day.
The short notice change of fixtures when matches get moved to the Sky monday game will also play havoc with fans who work shifts or live and work outside the local area. Such things then become big disincentives to buying season tickets.
Only plus side is with regard to armchair viewers.
