What would be the point in semi-finals and a final ? Quite probably no French teams involved so how would that promote the Anglo-French game ?

Toulouse were promised entry to the NRC & Challenge Cup at the same time that this Euro cup was announced, so I don't think it's instead of NRC.

| According to the Sheffield board, the four games are a one off with the total aggregate scores added together to decide whether the Championship or LER are winners. Not sure who gets the prize money in that case, presumably the winner of the Featherstone vs Lezignan game?
If that set up is correct then it's nowhere near as good as first thought IMHO  |

I'd have had two groups of four, top of each in the final and played during the NRC. The 4 British teams to get a bye past the NRC group stages. Minimal disruption to the usual schedule.
