I thought the commentary was ok to be honest. The wind was a big factor. If it wasn't then Dave Woods, the 2 ex-players and 2 coaches on the programme wouldn't have mentioned it, and I'm fairly sure the wind was the reason behind Orr deciding to play that way in extra time.

Davis was right. If you have a big wind why not get an early kick in. Australian coaching has told us we are not allowed to do that and we have been listening to them for so long we actually believe it. He was also right about it being poor having drop goal attempts from the half way line.
We have been listening to the two idiots on Sky so long some of us actually believe they understand the game. We are shocked when someone says something more than the obvious.

I agree, Davies was correct in saying using the wind as a kicking game rather than doing the hard yards and he was spot on about stupid drop goal attempts from the halfway. |

Actually, having Ray French and Jonathan Davies split up means that at least we will have one decent commentator in each match (presume it will be either Brian Noble or John Kear doing the commentary for the match tomorrow)

Nothing wrong with Davies' commentary IMO. The one that annoys me is Dave Woods, great guy, he loves the game, but honestly his commentary can be just plain awful at times, if you re-watch last years' final his misidentification of players on the field was worse than Ray French has ever been and Dave isn't even at the right age for senility to set in yet.
