Quote vastman="vastman"Incredible when you consider that the team that won last years Academy didn't have a single representative in the team. I wouldn't get sanctimonious if I were you as clearly there should have been more clubs represented, the question is why and what's the point in being champions?
You really are a one eyed supporter.'"
Vasty. For you to call anyone one eyed is unbelievable! I present you with the FACTS. You may not like them but once again I will show you up.
2 of the representatives Adam Milner GB captain and Jordan Thompson (scored the try that got them back in the game off good work from Milner) CAME THROUGH THE TRINITY SCHOLARSHIP. Do not look for excuses your club let them go.
Trinity won the Academy league a couple of years back, fantastic. The fact of the matter is though that while Trinity were playing the 18's at that level most other clubs were using them in the 21's. Wakefield had a shocking set of 21's the year they won the comp and promoted nobody.
Another Wakefield Scholarship lad has just signed signed for Wigan and is regarded as the best half back of his age group,
Its time clubs realised winning trophies at this level count for NOTHING. Developing players s what its all about. Many of the lads today have had a shot a first team, the Trinity lads from the winning season have not.
The youth set up at Trinity is so poor you have to recruit the likes of Penny, Vievers, Johnson and the lad from Hull whose name escapes me. Where are the Academy champions?
Do not look for excuses, nobody is to blame but Trinity themselves, and please consider you own stance prior to calling anyone one eyed.
