In Ellis's defence, the no-try decision could have gone either way.

The penalty in front of the posts was certainly careless, but it was no worse than most of the rucks in that game - I've not seen any play-the-balls that slow in Superleague this season, and that worked to the Maori's benefit in the first half.

It doesn't matter if it's Pennine League Div 7 or an international Test, slowing the PTB down is a great leveller.

Funnily enough though, I can't see the PTB being slowed down for us against NZ and Aus.

Certainly was in this case wasn't it.

Maybe the penalty Eliss gave away was down to lack of fitness though. The whole side looked like they were blowing hard in the second half
