I apologise if I have misinterpreted what you mean, but are you saying you decided to disallow the try for unsportsmanship, but ruled it as a forward pass when it wasn't? If so, this is a clear breach of the rules by the referee. Or are you saying that it was a forward pass, in which case you had to disallow it and the unsporting behaviour is irrelevant?

I believe there is a catch all offence in the RL rule book entitled "ungentlemanly conduct" - obviously I'm not sure if there has ever been a penalty given for this, but it would have been a more valid way of disallowing such a try rather than pulling a decision out of your backside as an excuse to disallow an otherwise perfectly legitimate (if "unsporting") score.

Let me put it this way, I would be more upset with a referee making up rules or deliberately making a bad decision to affect the score of a game, than I would be by witnessing the kind of try described in this thread. Shame on you for calling a forward pass (unless, of course, it was actually a forward pass, in which case, as has already been said, the sporting/unsporting conduct becomes irrelevant anyway).

Well happened when we played Crusaders end of last season in Newport.

Webb broke through and ran under the sticks but then passed it back to Peacock so he could complete his hat-trick.

Was hardly a game breaker mind.

I can understand people saying doing take the tizer with things but their are limits and exceptions as in this and that case!

I also remember Graeme Horne passing it to his brother Richard whilst playing for Hull to equal a try scoring record I think in the 2006 season.
I don't see the problem if anything the players are taking more of a risk whilst passing the balland if the ref had disallowed the try for ungentlemanly conduct what a load of bs.

Its all about respecting the opposition.

I was at a mates footy match and they were 8-0 and they got a penalty, the coach was furious as they wanted their Keeper to take it. Respect.

Rob Burrow did that to us in our first year in SL.
