To say Terry Newton was habitually dirty is wrong. Boyd set out to incapacitate players in every match he played - Newton's defining moment was the Gilmour/Long games, which whilst terrible, was not typical.

Newton was more of a houser than an out and out dirty player; his problem was he wasn't smart enough to disguise it, like a lot of other players.

You know for years ive listened to warrington fans gush about the time les boyd said he was going to smack hanley all over the pitch and then how during the game Boyd leathered Hanley. So imagine my surprise when I found the video on youtube and saw nothing of the sort!!!!
