Sharing the new ground with Sale has long been rumored.
Loathed as I am to idea, I think it'll be the most viable option the Sharks have, once built. Any objections the Reds may have (I believe John Wilkinson is not Mr Kennedy's biggest fan) would be about as justifiable as mine:

Stockport fans were the authors of their own downfall from the moment they set up a Trust to take over the club .

It had little to do with Kennedy .

The problem was that the bought the Club from Kennedy. Sale RU are not in a particularly good state at the moment. They have got rid al most of their best players in the past couple of years. If you want to know what happened with Stockport County, have a look on their Message Board.

They will ruin yer nice pitch then ruin you financially, STOP Sale from spoiling Leigh and the LSV

Kennedy bought the assett, ie Egdeley park, then sold the worthless bit to the fans for £1.
He cant buy LSV, Sale will be lodgers only with the money helping LRL as shareholders in LSV, get em in asap.

Been told that Sale have had a look at the pitch at the LSV and the pitch is actually 'too hard' for them to consider playing there. However, if it does come off then it's only bad news as far as Leigh RL are concerned. No way at all that Kennedy would move from a stadium where they keep all income to a deal at LSV where they would have to hand cash over to the Stadium Co etc.

As this story gathers pace it's looking less likely that Sale will go to LSV contrary to what inside knowledge we have heard, I think I heard that Edgeley Park isn't up to Guinness Premiership standard, if i was a Salford fan, i'd be watching out.

As a Salford fan who works a spitting distance from the Sale/Stockport ground, I am worrried.

The Stockport pitch isn't fit for owt: it makes the infamous Willows pitch of the 60's look like Wimbledon in May.

The Barton stadium probably will continue to host Salford as that is the council's current view. However we will not own the stadium - Peel Holding will. I am on record of not trusting this company to look after anything but their own profits. Their record in Rochdale (where I live) is as a robber baron. Give them the opportunity to attract Union and the resultant media or promote Salford ... even with my red blinkers I see which way they would go.

However, please stay in Stockport as the resultant supporters are keeping one of the finest boozers going.

I do fear for Salford in that mate, even if i disagree with Salford getting the franchise last time round, they have worked hard and put it right, it would be a shame if Sale mooched in and took it away from them. I was hoping FC United and Swinton would get in.

The standard of grounds in the Guinness Premiership is not that high, look at the Rec at Bath. Edgeley Park is far better than that.
