Feka couldn't be a great player, he's just big. With his body shape he 'could' play like Paul Anderson, but he's not within a million miles of the quality of Baloo.

Feka worries me. He is so fat that he cannot bend over, he literally struggles to bend his back. He gets dominated by much smaller players because driving with his legs isn't easy. He needs to lose 2 or 3 stone, he'd still have the body shape but wouldn't be blowing simply because he's stood up off the bench.

Fielden I have a lot of sympathy for. His career was destroyed by Brian Noble at Bradford and by being overplayed when still young. You have to wonder who makes the decisions at Wigan because the last few big signings have been shockers. Gleeson is headed for the career graveyard aswell and he looks completely out of shape too, too skinny with no power or pace anymore. You have to wonder if it's the conditioning at Wigan causing the prolems or a lack of motivation.

Good game, Wire playing to a Tony Smith perfect game plan, Wigan coming back and nearly pulling off one of their comebacks made it great viewing.

Exactly. Most people, apart from some Wigan fans and to be fair even some of them doubted it, thought the Gleeson signing was a very poor one. Judging by the performances I have seen, where he has been either poor or annonymous, and according to several friends, who unfortunately are Wigan fans, this has been the case. Wigan just dont seem to learn their lessons and especially after signing Fielden you would have thought they would have been wary of signing another over the hill and overpaid player.

Thing is, many of them bemoaned his lack of service from the halves. But from what I've seen of Tomkins, most of his work comes down that right side, and they don't shut up banging on about him.

I agree about Mathers, he is a nightmare.
Tomkins however will, I believe, be INternational standard when he bulks up a bit. Alongside Eastmond he can be an International half back.

tbh I thought mathers was an inspired signing, simply because he had been brilliant.
