Which game are you turning too? You'll be ok, you don't have a local NRL side anyway.'"
I'll be sticking with RL and watching my local team where a bit of biff isn't seen as the end of the world and NFL were a good snott bubbler shoulder charge still makes the highlight reels.

| That's good.
Are you campaigning for NFL sides to lose the shoulder pads and helmets? Was there introduction due to soccer moms and netballers?

| Quote Buggo="Buggo"The game needs foundations and those foundations are the Juniors and the Parents that decide to put their kids into a Sport at Junior level they are comfortable with.
In Australia, the AFL, Soccer and even Union Clubs all compete at junior levels with programs like Auskick against League.
Times have changed where people will not have their kids in a sport that allows thuggery or condones dangerous play.
When I played the game there was as much fighting as play (it was a low grade)
That will not sell in this day and age.
Without Parents wanting their kids in League, the game will wither on the Vine in a few years time.'"
The games been growing in jnr participation numbers for a few years, there is oz tag and touch for non contact lovies like sheldon and my ten year old playing afl can't wait till next year when he can actually get physical and tackle people. Go figure!

Nothing wrong with tackling and big hits.
Just not shoulder charges or attacks to the head, high shots and some of the cheap shot king hits, leg twisting and attacks to the knees that have been seen in recent times.

| It's interesting how people change the conversation to suit their agenda.
I don't see anyone suggesting that kids will be disallowed by their parents from playing the game if 2 players have a barney or there's a bit of rough stuff during a game; I do see people suggesting, quite rightly, that an all-in brawl of this nature is bad for the game and shouldn't be celebrated.
How can anyone argue with that?

Exactly Buggo.
It's not difficult to understand, the safety of players has to be paramount.
It always makes me chuckle in JB's world you're either a softy who should stick to touch or a "real" man who wants to see concussions! No middle ground.
