That's just it, Sinfield is the only player in the England team who can give direction and a purpose, everything revolves around him. Unfortunately that makes it so easy to defend against, whereas Australia have possibly 4 pivots on the field with Lockyer, Thurston, Smith and Cronk guiding the team. We need at least another player with a kicking game who can guide the team around the field.

and whilst this is a very good Aussie team, we have faced much better historically and had we played to our potential surely this would have been closer.

I think Yeaman's made some decent tackles in defence, he's not International quality but to question him over players like Chase. Wilkin is an idiot with the ball at times too, instead of sending it out wide he always cuts inside.

Why can't Macnamara pick a team/players that can play? Rangi = useless, Briscoe = missing, Yeaman = asleep, Morley = one or two good plays but nothing else! Sinnys kicks not doing what they should...

Indeed. Sheens has got his tactics absolutely spot on, as much as it pains me to say it. Restricted us big style (that is if we ever had any illusions of passing the ball about a bit).

Unfortunately we struggle in the backs for quality, as was said before the tournament. I was flamed for daring to suggest Briscoe wasn't as good as people claim he is at the start of the season, and this performance has summed his talents up. Same goes for Yeaman. Although, I cannot see any English players coming through that can live with the Australian backs. Sheer class, a threat every time they get the ball.
