Excellent signing for us, with a genuine pre-season Fafita should be very hard to stop. He was pretty hard to stop last year and he was clearly not in peak shape or in anyway familiar with his new team.

Not only that, but he joined when the injury crisis really hit. He hasn't played in anything like a full strength Trinity squad yet. He made a difference when he was unfit and under prepared in a weak team. When he's fit and conditioned and in a full strength team I suspect he'll be damn difficult to stop

Silk has been with Hull for a few seasons now.

Sorry but why do you think he was unfit last season? He'd had a full pre-season at Cronulla, had played a handful of NRL games and the rest if the time played every week up to joining us in their reserves, which is a decent standard in itself. He doesn't really get any fitter or more conditioned than he was last year, thats just the shape he is!

I don't think he was fit, certainly not match fit - I also suspect he was coasting it which you can do at that size. I'm hoping that there is a fair bit of improvement left and that David is finally in the mood to match his brother (all things being relative). Compared to Andrew Davids body has not taken the beating so in some ways he's better off, Davids best may be yet to come.

Yes I'm not sure I really buy the not fit thing. He played plenty of minutes at a time when we were very light in the pack with injuries. Remembering him playing 60 mins against Cas when we had players go off injured. They're big minutes for a 120kg+ Prop.

Ateotd he came off a plane & was asked to be the main man as far as go froward, since all other Props were dropping like flies and for me he did a good job under the circumstances. Scruton looked like he had one eye on leaving in some games and Anderson was injured and played a bit them went into retirement.

I think the fact he joined when he did, at the time he did with injuries, I'd like to see an improvement from that standpoint, especially with a couple of more big units in England & Hirst to help him next season . Plus obviously with a full Pre-season he'll have more familiarity with the team, that should help get the best out of him.

That's exactly why I said he came to us unfit, it took him 10 games or so before he was able to put in big performances. I doubt he'll get his fitness much above where he finished the season, but where he finished the season was a lot fitter than when he joined half way through.

Cool story, except he got fitter and was able to play more game time as he progressed towards the end of the season

Maybe, conversely he arguably played his best game for us in his 2nd game here, in the CF QF against Hudds when he was MOTM.
