It doesn’t mate, I agree. I love Gale for us, but without our structures and plays he looks a little lost. As much as it pains me to say it, I’m not convinced he is an international half.

Widdop is our best half on the field by far.

Hahaha, Ref says get on the try line and then Tonga are almost 6 metres off side the last 3.-4 tackles and Roby gets creamed.
So far we've played really well, couple of mistakes but great defence.
Kicking is still ordinary but can see Tonga running out of steam.

Engkand looked good for first 20 but not do good second 20 - attack has fallen apart (again).

Good half for us that. Defence been brilliant. Just need to find a kicking game from somewhere

England scrambled well in defence

Think the more free flowing play and offloads break the field up for him, allowing him to shine more and give him more freedom. Which suits him more.
Agree this system England play suits someone like Snyed more.
Should have been a penalty to Tonga there tackled after the kick.

But very good half, Widdop playing well. Tonga getting more yards. But solid defence by us means they haven't really looked like scoring.

We lost our way in the last 20. Tonga have been good though, very physical and skillful, definitely up there with England and NZ.

Sam Burgess seems half the player compared to a few years ago, mistakes, wrong decisions, moaning at the ref.

Gale has been really poor, but it's been much improved on the last couple of weeks. We just need to execute better.

Hodgson has had his critics but his kicking game is head and shoulders above Gale and Brown.

They had chances and should have scored with that break on their right, winger should have taken it all the way, god knows why he passed as I reckon he had the try begging. Sika Manu has been incredible for Tonga, not sure on how many tackles he's made but he's been in everywhere.
Stroke of luck Hodgson getting injured IMHO, we need to cut out the errors in attack and we will walk the second half but if we give them a sniff and it's going to be a massive wrestle.

But for the most part he's done bugger all else, I can't believe how poor our kicking has been and it's costing us not just territory but making tackles in the wrong part of the pitch.

And yet another kick straight down the wingers throat! Arghhhhh

Followed by 2 stupid penalties!
