hear hear, the bigots on both sides make me laugh to be honest. I remember the arch bigot Frank Keating (we still aint dead Frank, you !) saying that no one in league will want to watch scott gibbs when he was back in union, just as no one in union wanted to watch him when he was in league. I remembered that when watching gibbs putting os du randt on his in the lions tour to south africa and just thought how sad that anyone would miss this great player just becuase he happened to be playing for the wrong code at that particular moment.
still much prefer league though!

i disagree, switching would have generated interest in the south but then anyone likely to go to the rugby would have seem him play live many,many times whilst the impact in the north will be much increased just because they don't have four provinces and the national side on their door step. imagine all those kids used to watching the national side on tv can suddenly get to see the captain play on their doorstep? they'll be beating the doors down. add in henson and we will be going great guns.

Shane Williams - Wilkinson - O'Driscoll - Cipriani - Steve Borthwick , and I wouldnt be able to pick Williams and Borthwick out of a line up.

shane has scored over 150 tries.?
And some of his tries are truely amazing and some are in some huge games.!

Nah it's all cool, we're a big enough (and long-established enough) club to handle it. Would worry about building RL in a country which doesn't give a shat about it if I was ya.

thats the point i was making with the other guy yesterday - if you have no interest in Union (which i dont !) then you may as well tell all that to a moonrock, unless you read or watch things Union then people wont have heard of him even if he played a million times for Wales and scored 500 tries in one season.
I wouldn't know any of the English Union team if they passed me in the street so i have absolutely 0% of recognising players from other countries !
