Rather than as you originally implied that we went out from the offset with a squad we couldn't afford. It's worth noting little details like the person who bankrolled the club walking out in this story, hence it not being [ias[/i clean cut as you originally described. |

And of both the short and medium term future of the club … without that failed gamble, I've no doubt Widnes would have been in a much stronger position to mount an SL bid from NL1 (if not necessarily from within SL) in 2008.
The authors of the misfortunes of Widnes RLFC in 2007/8 are no-one other than Widnes RLFC.'"
See so it's your lots bloody fault the Taffs got in , if you lot had done things properly we wouldn't have Celtic in all this trouble now

Stop deflecting. I picked you up on an important detail in my club's journey into administration. Our Chairman walking out and taking his funds with him after we had already recruited a full squad is not a minor detail. And while it doesn't condone the actions of the remaining board members it's worth noting. Your post implied we went out with the intent of building a squad we couldn't afford in order to gain entry to Super League. I argued it's not as clean cut as that, since we had to adjust to a major shift in the running of the club and the funding of the club after all the contracts had been signed. I'm not sure what your point is. |
