Our youth development has been appauling tbh with Agar prefering to play 10 guys out of position than giving someone a debut but we have been promised by Pearson and Gentle that they will get a chance from now on.
The only regulars in that time have been Briscoe and Houghton. Lyne has had the odd chance and tbf Nicklas would have got a shot last year after playing 4 or 5 times in 2010 but he was out for just about the full year with a knee injury. Thats pretty much it. We do have some very useful looking kids in the squad though. |

the last being houghton, criminaly agar wouldnt play or have the balls to give our youngsters a chance in the first team, up until agar took over we managed to produce our fair share, now with gentle in charge he is very focused on bringing the young players through |

The thing is though, was he just not wanting to play the youngsters, or is the standard of youngster coming through your ranks not up to SL standard? Could of been a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation and it made more sense to play a 1st teamer out of position than put in a young lad who's going to be targeted and battered all game |

Hopefully by the seasons end promising forwards like Green, Taylor, Cunningham, Cox and Pearce will have over taken the poor squad players like Aspinwall, Horne, O'hara, Lovegrove and show that the ageing overseas players can be replaced from within.

most think it was that agar refused to play the youngsters, myself included, when you're u20s are one of the better teams in their league you would expect some of them to be given the chance, not just being named as an 18th man role and ending up being the water carrier during games |

A couple have been standout players for either nl clubs or England academy, so the talents there. |
