I'm assuming it was an honest mistake and not a RU loving member of staff trying to be funny or clever. Clearly they need to make sure that someone with RL knowledge makes a final check of everything before it gets released.

Seems to me like some Yawnion idiot in the graphic design department of the company the RFL asked to do the poster did that but then whichevernidiot at the RFL didn’t notice it needs a serious word having with him.

Wouldn't put anything past the RFL. After all Fallowfield, secretary of the RFL in the 50's, 60's and early 70's used to turn out weekends for Moortown RU. |

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is the official title of the state. Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England are often called the Home Nations. All of them can be described as countries, or nations, as can the UK in its entirety. None of them are independent states, however.
Plenty of references all over the internet to England (and indeed Scotland, Wales) as nations or countries, in different contexts. Everyone else must be wrong and RLRealist right.

£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
