| I recently (last week) enquired to the RFL tickets, about buying group tickets for the Huddersfield game as there are a few of us wanting tickets, needless to say i haven't heard a reply from them!
perhaps they would rather those people spend money elsewhere?

The sad thing is, they know people like us will still persist and buy the tickets regardless. Customer service is non-existent in RL.

That said they have now opened part of the Upper Tier for Olympic Stadium, so sales must be decent. Had a quick scan of tickets for Coventry and there doesn't seem to be a single block sold out which isn't the best of starts, but still a few weeks to go.'"
Part of the upper tier has opened up at the Olympic Stadium, but most of the new tickets to go on sale are in the cheapest category. Over half the sections on sale are now at category 4 (the cheapest). This suggests to me that sales aren't going great.

| 21K sold for Huddersfield, so not far off a sell-out, but sales look to be less successful for Coventry & London, but they are of course bigger grounds and the games are further away.
the RFL's marketing machine has belatedly stuttered in to action we now have posters on the Tube, on buses and Radio Ad's

All the advertising is "tickets from [lowest price]." So they will inevitably attract people who think they'll give it a go but won't pay more than the minimum. The RFL are effectively saying they themselves don't think it's worth more than the minimum.
Not only that, but as somebody who for years paid top price for tickets at internationals, I now go for cheap ones. Reason is that at one big game years ago they let people in for £10 on the day and into better seats than I'd paid £50 for.

I agree the amount of promo codes, Groupon offers etc doesn't exactly make you want to commit to higher price tickets early on. Also a few years back I paid good money for Challenge Cup Final seats down the side, and ended up below a TV gantry with a poor view, since then i've just booked cheap seats on the end as the atmosphere is better anyway.

Great news with 11 days to go too. Hopefully London and Coventry will kick-on on the back of this. Next time we host the four nations is like to see St James Park, City of Manchester Stadium and Olympic stadium be the host venues. Time to get away from these small 25k stadiums IMO

That is good going seen as just a week or so back it was at 21k, shows a decent pick up, hopefully pattern is being repeated at other grounds.

Am I right in saying that this will be the last four nations tournament? If so and in 2018 we host a Kangaroo tour, we need to have tickets on sale at least 12 months in advance. Newcastle, either Manchester ground and London.
Rugby League needs to overcome this irrational fear of empty seats. Three-quarters full at London is infinitely better than a full house at Leigh. However, if we do it right there is no reason why we should not be filling these big, iconic, venues.

| Would love to be proven wrong, but just had a nosey at the ticket Website for the Coventry game and using the admittedly inaccurate method of hovering over the ticket blocks, not one is sold out with 2 weeks to go.
Anyone live in the Midlands who can confirm or deny if they are actually doing any local marketing? surely there must be some RU fans out there tempted to see Australia-New Zealand, i'm not a massive RU fan but i'd turn out at the KC to see the Wallabies-All Blacks if the situation was reversed.

It worries me that I am yet to speak to a single person who is going to Coventry. I would also love to be proven wrong; however, this event seems to be the product of Coventry-obsessed Big Nige. Double headers might be great when you can nip in-and-out of your hospitality suite all evening, then retire to your complimentary hotel, but why on earth would any sane person want to sit in the cold and dark for approx four hours on a Saturday night, then either miss the last train or face a long drive home?
