G'day all, developer of Rugby League Legends here. Would love to hear what you think / what you would like to see in future updates in the game. In particular would like to know if I have disgracefully gotten any team kits or place kickers way out of whack for UK teams (I am but an ignorant Aussie). Some of them have reasons (e.g. english team has red shorts so they don't look like fiji).

Currently working on bringing competitions to the app. Also, for anyone who can't see players on the field (on old devices), I have posted a fix which will be live on the App Store in a couple of days. Unfortunately, what you won't see are any club mascot names or real player names, due to copyright restrictions. Hence why some teams have names like Twickenham and Perpignan. Other than that, I'm all ears!

Tip of the cap to you, it already sounds better than rugby league live.

Played for five minutes, good effort considering its obviously low budget. I've played worse that were full releases on pc.

Two suggestions. One, you need to update th uk teams to stick in the mighty widnes vikings ready for next season. Two, I understand rating the Aussies so highly but considering we owned the kiwis this year you need to bump us up to their level and weaken the likes of Scotland and ireland who are to be fair not competing.

It would be good if, when the ball is passed, the player who catches carried on running. You can lose a bit of momentum sometimes. Some sort of slo-mo feature would be good too. Good fun and you can't argue for 2 quid.

points taken, and quite valid. Will adjust in future update. cheers
He's definitely talking about for kicking and possibly the dummy run system. When you want to kick it should slow down so you can plot it out correctly because I can't seem to get a decent kick off.

Also, I like how you just keep running and you tap the screen to change direction, once I worked out that was the case it worked better.

It's a simple thing but I will say it worked a lot better on my ipad because there is so much more space whereas on my phone it's a tad difficult to control because like rugby league there's a lot going on.

Still for a cheap iphone game its a good effort and there are precious few rugby league games out there so very well done to you.

Been on it for bout 30 mins now. Not quite got the hang of it yet (got stuffed by Rovers, then lost by 2 points, now I'm currently losing to France as England). Few things I've noticed:

1. Every time they score, they always get the kick smack bang in the middle of the sticks regardless. Think this needs changing (even if only made random).
2. If a prop makes a break, chances are he'll always run through the scrum half and full back. Think if you could create some kind of tackling system, it would be much better. I'll give it a bit more thought and see if I can suggest a system that might work.
3. It's pretty difficult to gage where players are on the pitch (on breaks most importantly). Perhaps there should be some little markers on the edge of the screen to indicate where players are off-screen (something like a little coloured dot that gets bigger as the player gets closer to being on-screen).
4. Players often move and stay out of position. I've had wingers stay in the middle at times.

Other than that, it's a good laugh. I like how you can draw lines for players to run, although I often made the assumption that you could do that with the player on the ball as well (and thus kept kicking it!), but that's just getting used to the controls. Maybe if you could zoom in and out, you could take full advantage of drawing running lines (like two finger zoom).

Really looking forward to seeing how this progresses. Nice simple game.

Maybe a pause screen where you can plan things ahead like the dummy running and the kicking. Press pause, set up your plan, unpause and watch it unfurl.

Good idea. Because quite frankly there isn't enough time between the play the ball and the pass to even make one guy do a dummy run without being tackled. Play the ball, pause the game, set up your runners, unpause then pick your pass.

Im loving the ideas, thanks lads.

Points 1 and 4 - i'm on it.
Point 2 - would love to hear ideas. At the moment, I'm thinking of adding a simple mechanism that means the runner loses pace (maybe half) when breaking a tackle. that makes them far less likely to break the next tackle, unless they gather steam again.
Point 3 - love it! Kinda like flight control markers.

Definitely food for thought. Might slow the game down a lot, but I def. see where you're coming from. Will think about how it can be applied.

Keep it up!

Point 2 would be an immediate improvement on the current system. Still think there may be a better way, but for now that simple change would improve it a lot.
Point 3 they did in a lot of the early sports games.
Point 5 would slow the game down, but it's optional to use at the end of the day. Players can play as now or play more tactically. Could even save moves to make it quicker perhaps? E.g save the running lines of a face ball, cut ball, wedge, drop off, etc. users could make their own as well.

And would be good if you could use Bluetooth to play your friends!

There should be a 'big hit' button. Sometimes you line someone up for a smash and nothing happens when you could wham them. Then, maybe a scrap could develop.

Yep - that's what I meant.

Madden 11 had a system where if you press a clock button it slows down for about 5 seconds. It might slow gameplay down (well, obviously) but you wouldn't use it every play.
